You may not know this, but I have had a cat that I care for very much since I was in elementary school. For some reason, it (I don't necessarily know the gender) was acting very strange today. It wouldn't come to me or my parents, and it could hardly jump onto surfaces. It was moving very slowly. My mom had this crazy notion that someone could've deliberately poisoned the cat. The cat was acting fine over the past few days, so this lends credence to the paranoia. If that's the case, who would want to poison the cat? Stuff like that is usually an act of retaliation, is it not? I'm not the kind of guy that makes enemies. Neither are my mother and father.

Why would it have to be poison? Old animals get sick. If you cared for it since elementary and you're 20 there's a good chance it just got sick.

That behavior is very natural to cats, when they get sick, all they do it sit around until they die. They don't eat, they don't play, they don't let you know they're sick.

The average feline life spam is 12-15 years.

It may be sick but it may get better.

I doubt anyone poisoned your cat.

It may just be old age, but it's also possible that your cat has had some kind of injury. Poisoning seems unlikely and you've no real reason to suspect that.

To set your mind at rest, and ensure your cat is properly cared for, you would be best to take it to a vet to get checked out. Is it swollen up at all?

I am so sorry that your cat is doing poorly. I have two elderly cats and I know that I will most likely outlive them. It is extremely sad to lose a pet.

If it's possible, take your cat to the vet. He or she will be able to tell if it's poisoning, an illness or a sign of old age. They may be able to help restore your pet's health. And while some cats do live to be more than 15 years old, few if any, live past 20. It may just be your kitty's 'time'.

I am sorry you cat is not doing well. I don't know your circumstances but I highly doubt if someone poisoned your cat. It might be attributeable to old age or it might have eaten a mouse or some other varmit that had eaten poison so don't jump on the parinoid train without knowing all of the facts.

Why don't you take the cat to the vet, they would probably be able to find out what is wrong....it might just be sick, or maybe having constipation or having some kind of digestive issue as cats do become very lethargic when that happens. Poisoning is possible but I think its a bit less likely, I don't see many people deliberately trying to poison someones cat.

How old is the cat? I had a cat that lived 15 years I still miss him, but I think he enjoyed his life quite a bit.

Please bring your cat to the nearest vet asap. We can not tell if he/she was poisoned or just got sick. Please help him/her!

I think that taking the cat to see a vet is a good idea, the vet can examine the cat and rule out or confirm the common things which make cats sick. I am not going to make any promises, the vet might be able to fix the cat but if the cat is impossible to fix and in pain then the vet can end the cats suffering by putting the cat to sleep.
