I don't know exactly what this is, but I get this zap like feeling that goes down my spine and it hurts. don't have any back issues, and when I twitch, the feeling goes away, I know one Aspie guy I know has this. Does anyone else?

I have a zap like feeling that goes down my spine randomly, but it doesn't hurt, rather it feels like a nervous tickle similar to a shiver down the spine. When it happens I sort of spasm/twitch automatically and it goes away.

Yeah, the shivery thing. Does it get worse with increasing sensory overload?

that can be any number of things; is there a common situation in which this happens?
knowing when it happens can help finding out what it is and why it happens...
(as an example, i also get "zaps" at times, but i know it to be Frisson)

yeah I get this also, you have to shiver to make the feeling go away, I don't know why it happens. it does not feel very nice, like a cold shiver you get when you have a high temperature

Yes, I get this too. Especially at the hair salon when my hair is being worked on. I get shudders that I try very hard to stifle but sometimes they have come out and the stylist is like, what's the matter? I don't really know how to explain that.

this specific example sounds like ASMR to me.

This always happens to me too. And it makes me do an involuntary twitch/shiver which is hard to conceal.

I was wondering whether this had to do with Aspergers or if it was common for all people.

What is ASMR?
ASMR is a reaction where you get "tingles" from certain things. Getting them from haircuts is very common.

But ASMR is not painful. ASMR is one of the best feelings. I am pretty sure that ASMR is not what the original post is referring to.

Wear headphones and have the sound turned down to a calm speaking tone when you watch this, and don't rewind to the beginning of the video:

This does for me. When people ask me if I am cold, I say no, its more like I got electrocuted.
