Hello everyone I have a big question. When I was single and in community college while working I had no trouble keeping my grades up. But now I am at a university and my grades fell below the requirement and I find tht I am always worrying about time. I spend a lot of my free time talking to her or staying up late and being unsure of how to schedule time to work on assignments for my classes. I am frustrated beyond belief not to mention she asks when can she see me and another thing I have to move out my dorm by the thirtieth of April and I have been so thrown off I have missed appointments with my counselor. I don't know what to do anymore at this point.

Do you have a diagnosis, and if so, are your instructors aware of it?

school work comes first. if your partner doesn't understand that, perhaps the relationship isn't worth putting your effort into.

The best way to balance work and life is to have no life. That way, you don't have to do any work.

I see your dilemma. It's tough going through what you're going through.

What are you taking up in school?

I would say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you have to get your grades up. In this day and age, a college degree really is quite essential. You've come this far--why not just get the degree? My father quit college after 3 years--and he regrets it.

How come you have to leave your dorm by 4/30? I can see how that could be stressful.

It is unfortunate, but this dilemma is faced by many. Not that it lessens your dilemma--but perhaps you could take solace in the fact that you're not alone.

You can get alot of advice here. You may only get this advice from me. Remember, it is only advice. Dump the girl. Go from there.

Work and university first, girlfriend second.

You only get ONE chance at this bit, don't screw it up.

I did great in college, until I started dating. For some strange reason intellectual pursuits had a difficult time competing for my attention against love and sex. (Facetious)

More seriously, I can usually juggle two competing priorities, but add a third and I begin to struggle. Hopefully you can do better at finding a balance than I did.

I find the responses to this topic very interesting. I feel somehow "overwhelmed" by my girlfriend too. There is nothing I can reproach her, we love each other dearly and she makes more effort to understand me than anyone else. But still, without blaming her, my relationship is the root of some problems that affect many areas of my life, and many of my current issues come from the fact that I don't want to give up anything (neither her nor anything else important in my life).
