He wasn't charged either. Didn't go to jail. Here's the story, http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/texas ... z31SH2MuAW , but what happened was the guy walked in on the dude molesting his five year old daughter, beat him into pretty much dead, and then called 911. It was ruled a homicide but no charges were filed.

Go Texas!

But I'm sure someone will have an issue with it. After all, it happened in Texas. :o

Um, that's exactly the entire and whole evolutionary point of Dads.

That is precisely what Dads are for, to totally beat the holyfu*k out of anything harming their offspring.

Bringing home the bacon is useful, but it's nowhere near as important as instantly raining down destruction.

Do not come between a parent and their offspring. This goes for humans as well as other animals.

You wouldn't even think about it,it would be automatic, like if a wild animal tried to drag off your child. The reptile brain kicks in and kicks some ass.

It is a homicide, but in reality, like killing, it's a value-neutral term; it is simply the term for a human being taking another's life, without pronouncing any judgment on the act per se. Murder and manslaughter are the words that carry the moral and criminal judgment and are considered illegal forms of homicide. There is also justified homicide, in which the person who committed the homicide did no wrong in the eyes of the law.

This homicide was justified 100%, needless to say, both morally and legally.

There is no question in my mind that what this man did was criminal. He was entitled to use the force necessary to stop the commission of an offence, and to restrain the offender until he could be delivered into lawful authority.

So what's the correct public policy response to this criminal act? I don't believe for a minute that a jury would convict on this basis, and I cannot conclude that prosecutors are wrong to take that into account when making a decision about whether or not to lay charges.

But the lesson that this teaches us is that all criminals are not created alike; and all that is required for you to get away with crime is to have the political Zeitgeist at your back. The mob has spoken.

Cool! The world is better off without the guy, and Texas taxpayers do not have to support the cost of housing him in a prison and guarding against his escape.
