Okay so I've been an ardent Naruto fan for 10 years now. It has enraptured me and been my haven whenever sad and it has been my obsession for years. The quality of Naruto has been deteriorating but I still appeciated the art, symbolism and thematic elements that metaphorically operated the story. However 3 days ago KIshi basically said F U to his fans by performing quite literally the most notorious asspull dues ex machina in the history of fiction conceivable. Chapter 688 showed a dead Obito transfusing with Kakashi, giving him 2 mangekyo sharingan and a page later he brought out a Madara level perfect susano. WTF!! !! ! I almost fainted from how ret*d that was and how deliberately kishi betrayed his fans. The series was nearing the ending yet kishi has at this point given us the middle finger and screwed his fans over. Not a single Naruto fan on any website is not disappointed. Even the most apologetic fans are cringing and tacitly disdaining his appalling hate for his fans and once awesome manga. This chapter was symbolic in literally unequivocally showing kishi not giving a crap about his manga. before that i would STERNLY rebuke anyone who even insinuated that kishi wasn't a tremendous author but after this chapter kishi has gave me no reason to not think he is a troll. Yes the manga lately hasn't been as good as before but the essential crux was still there. not after last chapter. kishimoto has cheated us fans with abysmal writing so sub par its worse than excrements. the manga i once found enthralling and a haven has failed me thanks to the lately incompetent author. no, no other fiction or manga will replace naruto for me. i knew kishi was slightly rushing but now it's confirmed kishi wants to rush naruto even if it means crapping on the story in the process. now i only read the manga as a joke to see how the other pissed off fans react subsequently from now on.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle eventually got tired of writing his Sherlock Holmes stories, and so one day Doyle had Sherlock Holmes slip, and fall off a cliff to his death while chasing bad guys in the woods. No more cases for him after that.Holmes was dead. The Sherlock Holmes fans of the world were horrified.

Years later the public demand for Sherlock stories finnally prompted Doyle to start up the detective's career anew. He concocted an explanation for SH to survive the fall, and he began cranking out new SH stories. But they werent as good as the old ones. One fan lamented that "Holmes just wasnt the same man after that fall off the cliff". Ofcourse it was Doyle whose heart was no longer in the writing.

So...maybe it's best this way. The creator bowed out before overstaying his creation's welcome.

This was exactly how I felt about Fairy Tail from the Grand Magic Games arc on. During that arc, Mashima somehow got the idea that his characters were f*****g awesome, dude, no matter how terrible the writing was getting at that point. Hence, Natsu became a selfish hypocrite who always fought the main baddie by himself simply because he was the star; Erza became a unbelievably self-righteous Mary Sue to the point where Mashima even reflected it in her backstory, of all places; Laxus became quite the conformist ret*d (I guess being frozen in time for seven years despite not being in the guild at that time can do that to a person); and so on.

The saddest thing about this is, part of the reason why I got into FT in the first place was because of the characters and their overall quirkiness; now, I don't give a f**k about any of them at this point. I'd like to think this is affecting Mashima as well, especially since he had been planning a new manga series, but he gave up on that after watching an anime with a similar premise and so now he's doing an FT prequel instead.

But I doubt it.

Eh, I dunno.

I'll have to check it out but, if you think back over the story, it sort of actually makes sense...

...kind of...

...at least, if he's putting together the end of the story for all the little kid fans (and there are A LOT of them) who are going to be devastated if Konoha doesn't come out on top in the Great War and if Naruto doesn't get out of this alive.
