I have posted a lot of things on WrongPlanet that I've come to regret. Some of it is very personal and I feel I am being harassed because of it. I think I want this account deleted/closed, whatever.

Only admins can delete accounts. There were some mods previously who could delete WP accounts but that was only because they had admin privileges.

They normally deleted troll accounts or sockpuppets. There was one former mod who decided to delete a member's account and her first one she used to use. But she got in trouble for it and lost her admin and mod privileges because it f****d things up here bad and Alex was pretty pissed about it. That is why accounts don't get deleted.

Sounds like deleting accounts in WP is difficult. Good to know.

We all regret sometimes things we say … but believe me, not many people remember/ notice what others were saying!!

Pretty much no-one does, actually, I believe.

We are all too self-centered to pay much attention to others and to remember what others said or did. (I mean, we as humans, homo sapiens, not only we as aspians) For better of worse, that's just how it is, and when it comes to regrettable stupid posts, it is for better, I think.

So, is it really that bad? Or can the situation be solved by change of avatar and display name - just to show the change to anyone who may have noticed a stupid post or two and slightly cover the identity for the rest of us who haven't noticed anything!

If you meant "banned", it can be done right now. Sorry, I thought you meant "delete".

Why should you regret what you post? It's what a lot of people come here to do, post and talk about things they would otherwise not do in person. I don't think you should jump to conclusions and just leave.. I've posted a lot of things I'm not proud of, some things I'm really not proud of (mostly while drunk) but we're all in this together.. it's autism, we make social mistakes, hiding and giving up because of it isn't the right way to go. But it's your call.

If people are genuinely harassing you why not point it out where it happens to the mods, too? They're good about cleaning that up.

Well, I guess I'm not being harassed harassed, it's more that I've shared some personal info that I'm uncomfortable with and I've had several people message me about it. But I guess it will be fine and I don't need it deleted.

i remember the rules saying that personally identifiable or otherwise private information can be deleted on request in one-two posts but many places on the web might still have a cached copy (you have to manually poke them about removing it)

Yeah. I made more than a couple of very personal posts.

I made some very personal posts here too & faced some problems by certain members for em afew years ago. I think it's somewhat due to feeling very comfortable here & not thinking about others reactions when I post. I'm over it now & probably still post lots of things that could potentially get me in trouble but I haven't had problems in a couple years. Don't worry things will get better for you & I'm glad you decided to stay

I've been thinking it over again for awhile and I think I would like @mods to do whatever the thing is where I can't log in anymore. I don't know what it's called. I feel like people are getting sick of my crap on here and now with all these other dxs I feel my problems are worse than normal ASD stuff and I'd be better off talking about it with my doctor instead. So mods, so whatever you may. I think my time here has worn out.
