suggestion about gallery...

I think it would be nice to have gallery back...
I was reading the 'display your art' thread...and I wanted to respond to many of the works, but I think it makes it difficult if you have to quote the whole post in order to respond...and for works that were posted a long time ago...I have little option than to quote the entire post...and as some of the works are large images...I thought maybe quoting the entire thing may cause inconvenience...

Gallery would be great because you can respond to each image no matter how long ago it was posted...and you can also see all the responses beneath the relevant work....

I don't know how much AUTHORITAH mods had over the gallery. It seems like if it were to come back we'd need AUTHORITAH due to the recent spam/porn attacks.

as i remember, there was no mods at time when the gallery was made (both versions) and i really do think alex can work some controls out in his software to transfer to mod version of wrongplanet

AUTHORITAH wont ba a bad idea for the gallery if alex thinks of bringing it back, maybe both of you should drop this into suggestion or contact us link on left?

wont be a bad idea, problem would be is to find any mods who are online most of the day, and who have time to check the gallery

Not necessarily. Regulars here are pretty good at letting us know about problems.

I am indifferent either way. On all the forums I have been on, most people didn't even bother with the gallery once the novelty wore off... some would post things, but few would view. I suppose it is a good idea for keeping the member pics etc there though, as long as it was made a members only feature. I had a games arcade on my forum...those certainly were popular, lol.

we could also make it member only...it might not solve the situation but it would help...

But that wouldn't stop some troll like the various incarnations of JBM or Atomika from creating a new user account for the sole purpose of posting something inappropriate there.

from this, the best idea could be to post it on DeviantART. There, when you have a large image, it gets a smaller thumbnail which can be handy for WP use: Have the thumbnail up the top and the link below. If spam the image the artist can choose to Hide the comment, plus DeviantART has it's own set of mods you can complain to.
