Mum and I have the worse argument ever...

I got angry with her because she didn't hire a game for me, and then she got all mad! I told her that I'm sick of not being allowed to go out, and she just ignored me! I even had a go at her because she won't take me to the library! Heck, it's not like it's in Adelaide or something! So, I had nothing else to do but come to my nanna's house. I packed my bag, put Cactuar in, and came here. I need a break from my mum's crap, as I'm so sick of her treating me like crap. I don't know what I'm going to do about this.

RedMage,

First goto WP and let it out, it sounds like Mom might have problems of her own. She is the mother of RedMage, stuff does run in families, and she may have no idea what to do, be upset about doing anything. And just not dealing with it.

Unless there is something you are not saying, like you start fires in the library, that seems a reasonable request. I think Mom is afraid of what might happen, and that is what I get from the story. It is not easy to be the parent of a child who has problems with school, people, and though you beat the rap, you are being watched. Mom is keeping you safe in the hideout. One more good street brawl and you will be seeing bars. There are less fun lives than yours.

People run out of answers. WP is great, games too, but books, education, are needed at your age and more so for being aspie. There are times for no input, when the world overloads you, but good reading is quite input. Could nanna take you? Do you walk to nanna's? Can you lookup books you would like to read online and ask for someone to get them? Can you reach your library by internet? Phone? Most people beg their children to read.

Well, you did pack a bag and remember Cactuar. You are functioning, going to nanna's is the right choice,it gives you both a break. I know all adults are supposed to be perfect, children think so, but they do have money problems, forget things, just don't have time. Home, job, kids, takes about eight days a week to keep up with. So we fall short.

I live far away, things are different, but there are ways to work any system.

Library folk favor reading. If you gave them a call and told them you could not get to them, many people cannot. The blind get books on tape by mail, you might be able to get books somehow. Here we have a bookmobile, a large van that makes the rounds of the house bound. Putting it all on Mom is not working. It is your life, and a call to the library might give you some leads.

Girls your age do argue with their mothers, it happens everywhere. She may seem to treat you badly, but I think she is trying to protect you. If you were a boy you would be doing hard time right now. There is nothing to do but ride out the next few years. Ask Nanna to help you. She is always there to give you shelter, and nanna's have ways.

Your mom is afraid of losing you.

=( That's terrible. I hate it when I fall out with my family.

Did your mum actually say why she wouldn't let you go to the library?

Yes, she said I don't have a library card, and I said she can get a new one for me.

I think you did a wise thing by packing up and going to your Grandma's place. It seems that both you and your mum need a break from each other.

Progress, a little understanding on both sides. Now we are getting somewhere. Now there will be a card, there will be a library, and you both annoy the other, so both can win by quiting.

She who does nothing wins. Apologise to mom, it is you not her who got us here. You do your chores, you can do them without being told, and that starting a fight, because we have very little energy, and when that is used up, nothing good can happen.

You do want the energy of others to help you, so do not drain them. Moms mostly do not get enough sleep, having the house caught up and being able to just sit and chill is very rare.

You can do two things, be agreeable, do your chores and more without being told, and you can go visit nanna because she likes you. Take the load off of Mom and she will work to keep things better.

It does not happen in a day, people carry baggage for a while, expecting another fight, but after a week or two of household peace, a little rest, everyone improves, and has much to gain by keeping things good.

You give as good as you get in a fight, you can do the same for peace.

The usual reason people miss enjoying life is if they had a fun weekend, they would have no clean cloths for the next week. They would return to a dirty house with a sink full of dishes. Flies would be rising from the garbage. Even one day off would plunge the rest of life into chaos.

They are behind, overloaded, and just cannot think of anything else. You are in luck, RedMage is the problem and solution. Make a deal with her, be nice to Mom, make the house run, keep it up for a few weeks. Mom will not believe it, but will do nothing to stop it, and having a load removed, she will have energy to treat you better.

Behold the Power of RedMage!

Finally. Now don't forget, a book has a very simple interface. You simply open it at the start, and (usually, unless you're reading a manga) it reads top-to-down, left-to-right. :) Hope you find some good books to read!
