I am high functioning, and I have neurotypical traits and it doesn't bother me at all!

Mine seem to be:

- I am not resistant to change. For example, I actually like to change my bedroom around. I do it about twice a year or so. It sort of helps my mood

-I enjoy traveling- Especially as a musician- I like the planning part , planning a road trip. I get nervous staying in hotel rooms by myself, though. I need to be no higher than the 3rd level in hotel rooms because I am afraid of heights.

- I like birthdays and (not too big) parties. I like surprises! (just warn me first)

-I like to do acting and improv- although I don't know if this is strictly neurotypical. The main issue I run into is making eye contact with other actors.

- I am not the least bit uncomfortable speaking in front of large audiences or performing on stage. Being off stage and talking to people one on one- now that, freaks me out!

I also enjoy traveling.
I have no sensory issues, and I don't stim. I can eat or wear anything.
I have no problem keeping eye contact during a conversation.
I can modulate my voice, and use different inflections.
While I'm not totally comfortable speaking in public, I've managed to survive as a practicing litigator for over 30 years.
I can sing and play a musical instrument.
I'm fairly athletic for a 62 year old.

My daughter is only moderately functional but she still meets 4 (see above) out of 5 of your above criteria.

I'm definitely not a picky eater. I love trying new foods.

I can use humour naturally. And sarcasm.

It is very easy to shut me up if I won't stop talking. But I suppose that's because anyone can talk over me since my voice is incredibly quiet.

I don't have any obvious coordination issues. Other than fairly bad (not extremely) handwriting, going down stairs (most the time I give up and jump), and being clumsy with the driving controls I have no problems. But I can tell how much pressure I'm applying. Never broke anything.

I don't lose things or have any problems with organisation.

Not sure what else there is. That's all I can think of.

I do feel empathy, and I can recognize other's emotions or if something is bothering them fairly easily. I also can keep eye contact, but I trained myself to do that.

I can feel compassion at the macro level...for example I feel compassion for humankind and its pointlessly futile conflicts as I would for children who are afraid and lack capacity. I have a little daughter by my ex and love her to bits as she is my flesh and blood and looks to me to protect her as she gets to grow from infancy I can feel a more immediate compassion for members of my family.

I enjoy the atmosphere in pubs and clubs and love eating out. Obviously the eye contact issues and general physical clumsiness plus communication issues are a pain.

I usually enjoy:
Travel by car, train or plane (I'm not too fond of long trips on buses, however.) I do prefer roadtrips in summer months...
Image
Most celebrations such as birthday or victory parties (as a mobile DJ I've had to become accustomed to these.)
Image
Most sporting events, rock concerts (as long as it's not "grunge"), and certain performing arts like theatre and dance...
Image
Public performance (as long as it doesn't involve lengthy speaking, I can intro/outro songs smoothly as a DJ.)

Sorry, I prefer the glam screamers. Too many baritones in grunge for me.

I guess if you tell someone that there's something coming, but don't reveal what that something is, then it could still be a surprise! You're just taking out that 'shock' factor.
