What parts of Asperger's do you NOT have? My intelligence is only average, I'm nothing special with computers, I can't do math to save my life (thanks, NVLD), and I don't think I see patterns in everything. I have all the negative stuff, but most of the positives are nullified by NVLD.

I definitely can't solve visual puzzles in five seconds.

I can't remember ever going off on a stereotypical Aspie monologue. My tendency is to stay silent in the majority of situations.

Same for me. I'm dyslexic & have ADD & am in my own world too much to have any of the special skills/strengths/talents Aspies are supposed to have. I also don't have a monotone voice

I copied this list and modified it because I am still learning what Aspie is.

- I don't talk about my special interests much unless engaged in them and then I will not only tell you the time, but how to build the watch....
- I don't have an expressionless voice...depends on the situation for me
- I'm often very emotional but very logical and it's when that logic is violated that I get out of sorts
- I don't think in a robotic manner
- I have an imagination
- I understand jokes/sarcasm sometimes

I don't have Meltdowns or involuntary stimming.

I may foot tap or something, but I won't do that if I'm in an inappropriate situation for it.

I don't have uncontrolled Meltdowns, but I may have a calculated Shutdowns when the circumstances are right. I'll kind of retreat to my room or something. I used to have controlled Meltdowns or something like that when I worked a night shift job. I'd bottle up my frustrations if something went wrong then I went to the car garage and beat the s**t out of some cardboard boxes leftover from deliveries. Also, one time I punched a hole in the weak drywall.

I stink at playing the encyclopedia game, no Alex Trebek and Jeopardy prize money for me.

Mainly i know what to do when socializing but have a hard time doing it. I know how to read body language, interpret what people want, if they're uncomfortable, what constitutes 'normal' topics of conversation, read all the non verbal cues, etc.
But I don't like to follow the flow. It's hard and boring, but if I'm energized I can do it and maybe 5% of the time I enjoy it.
Basically I have cognitive empathy. I'm crappy with emotional empathy still.

I don't have special interests. I only get interested in something for spurts then usually can't do it anymore. This may be because of undiagnosed ADHD or cfs or some other medical condition that turns my brain to mush.

There's a chance I'm not on the spectrum.

Can make normal eye contact

Don't rock or flap hands

Difficulty focusing on special interests

Can identify my emotions and express them verbally

Can instinctively read other people's body language

Like to wash and keep clean and dress presentably

Enjoy reading women's magazines

Love gossip

Can pick up on nearly all social cues

Enjoy interacting with work colleagues

Difficulty with logic (more irrational and emotional than logical)

Have a sense of humour

Can hold down a romantic relationship

Can lie to save someone's feelings and avoid an awkward situation

Don't speak in monotone

Can get jokes and sarcasm

Average/below average intelligence

Bad at maths, science and technology

Take a while to learn new things

Like bright light, hot weather and being touched

Have self-awareness

Can empathise with others (although empathy is not what defines Aspies and NTs)

Cannot be isolated during a meltdown, can get over a meltdown much better when there's someone to comfort me and to talk to (have a shoulder to cry on)

Think of others a lot

Yet, despite all that, I still fail to make friends.

Can somebody please tell me how to find these tests? I've done the Baron-Cohen AQ test, that one's easy to find (score of 41).

As for AS traits I don't seem to have:-

I have an excellent sense of balance and hand/foot-eye coordination
I'm good at arithmetic but terrible at maths
I dislike computers
I really hate computer games (which to me seems perfectly congruent with supposedly typical AS traits, ie: dislike of fiction, yet it seems very common for people with AS to be really into computer games etc, and to like stuff like Star Wars, Dr Who etc, which I find utterly uninteresting)
I have friends (not many, but say 4 or 5)
I don't actually know what this "stimming" is but from what I have so far gathered, I don;t think I do it (maybe keeping clenched fists a lot of the time counts as it? Certainly no hand-flapping or rocking, though I did have to make myself not rock, when I heard or read it was a sign of mental illness!)

I understand figures of speech and sarcasm just fine. I also understand jokes, even though neurotypical people think I don't because I don't laugh a their jokes. But that just because their jokes are not funny.
