I was on a reddit to chat (IMO "chat") about Monster Hunter a game series I like. and am told things such as I'm 30 I should have better grammar etc.

OR

I act like I just found the internet.

I replied no I was 86 and grew up in the dial up age

(his reply) act like it

WOW!

I'm hurt! Posting here 4-5 times a day isn't an issue to WP but this reddit (which I guess IS NOT a message board?? Was rude! So much for me talking about my interest in Monster Hunter)

Add it to the list of rude boards/replies about my grammar

Zelda
Pokemon
Destiny
Fire Emblem
NOW
Monster Hunter

(and here I thought I found a nice board to chat with about the series)

Stick to WP and this Autism board it is then. :-(

I'm so hurt! I wish I could make online friends chat about game series etc. But it always seems to blow up in my face!

Feel like I want to crawl into a ball and cry.

Is anyone else on the spectrum easily hurt????:-(

Though not on the spectrum I just want to say that I understand your reaction and would feel the same way probably. What just makes so many people act so inappropriate and verbally abusive just because they are on the internet, it's a terrible thing.

Yes, I am. I get hurt by bits of teasing that wouldn't bother most people. And by people not liking something that I like.

Forget about these schmucks on the Internet.

They get their jollies out of insulting random people. They certainly wouldn't do it to their face. They're punks.

Just talk to the people who answer you back decently.

Your grammar seems fairly normal. If you're arguing or debating about something, it's possible that they are just trying to redirect the topic because they are losing. I'd also say to not let one or two people ruin your experience on a place like reddit, or any where for that matter. Also, what game/series is NOW?

Oh, that makes sense. Was just reading everything as a list and trying to figure out what NOW stood for lol.

My spelling and grammar is good so no one gives me a hard time about that but I know I have ran into some jerks online who have made rude posts to me. I used to let it bother me a lot but then I don't let it get to me much. It still hurts but I get over it. I have gotten rude responses here too in that past so I have learned there are rude people everywhere and we're no different.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!

Seriously, though ... I stay away from websites where the members seem to take pride in how vicious they can be, AND those websites where political correctness is extreme. WP seems to be the best compromise between the two extremes, most of the time.

I am. I think that because people on the spectrum feel things more intensely, we tend to be more sensitive. Those Reddit kids really need to learn manners. People on the internet who act like that are cowards looking for attention. Ignore them, don't show any signs of being hurt, and they'll pick on someone else. Their parents would probably be horrified to find out how their kids are behaving and treating others on the internet.

I was picked on alot on other forums too & on this one in the L&D section when I was really frustrated. It really upset me at the time but I don't think I get as hurt nowadays as I used to would.

I am.

I realize these people who hurl insults on the internet will amount to nothing in life, but it still hurts. Words do have an effect on people, no matter what some will say.

I have learned not to care as much about what people on the internet say. There are just too many vicious people out there that use the anonymity in order to be mean and hostile towards other people for no good reason. It's really easy for a person to be a jerk when nobody knows who he/she is.

I could be hurt once I could understand being talked poorly of.
