Quote:
Donald Trump declares himself the 'presumptive Republican nominee' after clean sweep

  • Mr Trump and Ms Clinton went into Tuesday's contests expecting to add to their haul of delegates

Donald Trump has declared himself the “presumptive” Republican nominee after securing a clean sweep in five crucial contests and edging ever closer to securing the party’s candidacy.

Mr Trump appeared pugnacious but reasonably restrained when he appeared before supporters after enjoying victories in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland and Connecticut. “I just want to thank everyone,” he said, speaking at Trump Tower in New York. “This is a bigger win than we expected - 0-5. And not only was it 0-5, it was 60, 65, 67 [points]. When you crack 60 points when there are three people, that is a very hard thing to do.” He added: “I consider myself the presumptive nominee. We have millions more votes than Cruz. We have millions more votes than Kasich ... It’s over. As far as I’m concerned, it’s over.”

Time for the Republican Party to accept defeat and accept Trump as their official candidate.

GO TRUMP! GO TRUMP!

It ain't over till it's over.

He has to get the 1237 or so delegates to be automatically nominated.

There's lots of sleaze to this guy.

Trump is 100% the presumptive nominee and has been for awhile, no one else can reach 1237 and Trump will surpass it soon enough. He'll win on the first ballot and the dirty RNC tricks with all those stacked delegates can just cry into their beers. Trump is close to 1000 delegates right now, California is like 172 by itself and he leads in Cali by 20 points.

The establishment will either roll over or get the hell out of the way, a good many of the politicians are ready to move on and see Trump's political movement as a good thing for the party like guys like Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani. Trump doesn't just have fringe support with in the party, he has some popular power players as well as supporters that are popular with the grassroots like Ben Carson.

Trump won the vast majority of Pennsylvania's unbound delegates, he isn't getting outworked everywhere on the ground. 39 of 54 for officially for Trump, 7 are uncommitted, Cruz has only 2 declared delegates out Pennsylvania. Trump is probably at around 1000 delegates, he's getting this first ballot.

Trump will be annihilated if he becomes the GOP nominee. That's why they don't want him.

Trump will annihilate 'they' and their free ride off the backs of the American people, Trump will win in a landslide like Reagan. Everything is being set up that way, Hillary is no Jimmy Carter by the way as far as being a good person goes. A moderate third party ran in 1980 too in John Anderson, he was polling pretty high at one time. The media howled about how Reagan was an extremist and how he'd turn the Cold War hot, how did that all turn out? Bernie is leading the futile left wing revolt as Ted Kennedy did, Bernie's supporters are not as apt to fall in line tho.

Hillary should take a plea deal now with her emails because she should be shown no leniency under a Trump presidency, 30 strikes and your out. What's the MAX sentence?

Nah, not gonna happen, Jacoby. I predict that whomever the GOP nominates, they will be soundly defeated. Hillary appeals more to the moderate, mainstream voters.

But we'll just have to wait until November to see who's right.

Hillary is HATED by Republicans and independents, large parts of the Democratic electorate will be peeled off. Trump will hammer her 24/7 as corrupt and have 40 years of scandals to throw at her. Trump is going to paint her as a criminal and won't let her wiggle away from her insane foreign policy or NAFTA. Imagine the two on a debate stage together, it would be brutal. Trump WILL win in a landslide against Hillary, he is her worst nightmare. When is this FBI investigation wrapping up? If the FBI recommends prosecution and the DOJ refuses then she's cooked, done. Hillary may end up in prison yet, Obama might have to send her there to save his legacy.

Hillary is more attractive because she isn't pandering to a dwindling demographic. That's the problem with the GOP. They are behind the times, and believe there are still enough xenophobic, prejudiced Americans who are driven by fear propaganda to put their man in the White House. I believe they're quite wrong and that reality will b confirmed in November.

Jacoby, Clinton will never be indicted of any crime. Hell, if Bush and Cheney got off the hook for war crimes, what makes you think she will pay the price for a few unauthorized emails?

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I don't support Hillary or any of the GOP candidates.

Is this from the same media which supports politicians who back ISIS(McCain, Obama, Clinton, etc.)?

The same media that has been completely powerless to stop Trump despite the hundreds of millions spent against him this campaign.

All Hillary does is play identity politics by the way, that's the entire story of the Democratic primary so far pretty much with Bernie and Hillary trying to outdo each other with who likes blacks and Hispanics more and have embraced a radical open borders policy that the rest of the country will be horrified at. That 'dwindling demographic' meaning white people I guess is still the strong majority in this country and will be for a while yet and still will be plurality. The Democrats have pretty much abandoned the white working class which why so many are now flocking to Donald Trump. These are the people that propelled Reagan to the White House, Hillary NEEDS these voters. There is a good chance that Trump could win the majority of the union voters despite the union leaderships almost all being universally against him.

Hillary got caught red handed, it isn't a political witch hunt and believe me there is a reason for the "private server" and it's not convenience. Hillary was essentially trying to skirt open government laws and be immune from FOIA requests, to hide whatever she's been doing these last few years. You know she made $25 million in speeches after stepping down as Secretary of State? Must of been some hell of a speech.

You should have a dog in the fight and it should be anybody-but-Hillary

Media? When the f**k did I mention anything about the media? I'm just giving you my honest assessment of the current state of the political race for the White House. I believe the GOP doesn't have a prayer in November for the reasons I've already expressed.

Well, I don't have a dog in this fight. I wouldn't vote for Hillary and I certainly wouldn't vote for any GOP candidate.

Donald is unlike any other Republican, after years of people saying the base of the GOP's real interests weren't represented by their leadership so now they've found a candidate that does. Tucker Carlson said something along the lines of the most conservative voters having rejected 'the guardians of conservative' last night, he said some interesting things lately that I think should help illuminate the disconnect.
