For the past three or four months, I've been playing World of Warcraft. I love the game. However, as I increase the level of my characters, the quests take more and more time. I'm finding that I have to group with other characters to complete my quests. In truth, I love group quests. To me, they're much more enjoyable than solo playing. However, I have a hard time finding other players who want to group for just 30 minutes. Being married with three young children and a busy career, I can't find an hour or two at a time to play without taking from the family. So, I'm trying to find a game that I can play that's enjoyable and that I can play for small time increments like 30 to 45 minutes.

The game I'm looking for doesn't have to be a RPG or an MMORPG. In fact, I just bought the pc game "Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express", and I'm going to give it a try. I'm willing to try most games that have good graphics. Unfortunately, I experience sensory overload when I play first person shooters, so those are out. Due to sensory overload issues, I don't play the sound when I play WoW, so I'm trying to avoid games that require you to listen to background sound or music. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you ever saw wargames as a youngster a good spare half hour game I love is Defcon.

Its a multiplayer nuclear war simulator - can play either against the computer or against people online and theres a 2 player demo available so you can check it out. The full version allows 6 players vs or team with various game modes to spice it up a bit.

I play with the sound off and its the kind of thing where it isnt the end of the world (kinda) if you get called away.

Carcassonne
Carcassonne 2
Worms ( )
Desktop Tower Defense http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD ... t.asp?cc=1
if you have a PS2: Katamari Damacy 2
if you have a Wii: Wii Sports

best of all, you can play all of them (except Desktop Tower Defense) with your family :D
