I tried using the Random forum for my topics, but the onslaught of "Post a random [lie, truth, etc] about [the above person, the next person, your cat, etc]", "What is your cat doing right now?" chat-style threads always bury them relatively fast. It seems very much like that Monty Python sketch, where no one can have a conversation, due to all the "Spam spam spam" going on.

Would it be possible to keep the Random forum the way it is, but have a forum seperate from it, for meaningful discussions that people will actually be able to follow?

Frankly, given that we have a games forum,
I wish most of that stuff would just end up
in there.

I wouldn't mind if that stuff disappeared completely. However, with a forum title like "Random", I think people feel encouraged to post randomly.

Another thing I'd like to see is Video Games seperated from Sports. But one request at a time.

Very few of my threads are very popular. I think thats a result of me not coming up with popular ideas. But one thing I'm not going to do is try to create some mechanism were people are forced to have to see my threads for one second longer than they want to.
