Am I the only one who thinks this "election" is scripted.
I honestly don't think we are even going to have a 2016 election. Sure we will go out and vote but are we getting two different candidates or basically a match between a female Trump and Male Clinton. Its more like Hillary Trump VS. Donald Clinton. This election is a bad joke. Its a wrestling match with everything scripted to maneuver the cattle and keep wealth in the hands of the rich and ensure the destruction of the middle class. This election is an insult to my intelligence. It seems that every time Trump raises his polls higher than Hillary he spits out something stupid, offensive or a combination of the two and lowers back down. Trump is just their to be a bigger devil than Hillary to make her look better. Trump wants his BFF Hillary to win and she will once again screw over the disabled, the disenfranchised, the mentally ill, etc. She is a pathological liar so how can anyone trust anything she says. The real action people need to do is come together and demand the removal of HRC from the race and give Bernie the nomination he rightfully earned. Its all ready been proven the DNC rigged the election. That is a fact. Why is nothing being done about it though is the real question. I fear for our future regardless of who wins because its like South Park's episodes of an election between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. Garison purposely tries to throw the election on purpose when he realizes he has no idea what he is doing. I have heard reports saying Trump has considered dropping out of the election. Does it not seem that Trump seems to be messing around instead of actually trying to win. Sure he attracted a whole array of crazy people who normally never vote but in reality most Republicans hate him and most progressives hate Hillary. This is a historical election all right. The first non election in U.S. history where its just between two oligarchs. The Democrats and Republicans are a one party system. For the rich, by the rich and F the people.
The real question is what are people going to do about this. It would not been a problem had Bernie been given the nomination like he won in the first place. Millions of Bernie's votes were literally thrown away so HRC could cheat her way into the nomination. This is fraud, this is straight out treason. She is a criminal. I know most on this site hate Trump, I do as well but I hate Hillary even more because she is more dangerous. Trump is an actor and buffoon, not a cold, calculated politician. Had it been between Bernie and Trump, Bernie would have won in a viscous landslide. I won't lie. I fear for the future because this has been the largest power grab by the rich in decades. They want us as slaves and nothing more. We need to re-abolish slavery because the wages are nothing more than slave wages without the benefits of the slaves being cared for.

The latest estimate by the RAND corporation shows that the difference between the health care policy of Clinton and Trump is that almost 20 million people will lose their health insurance if Trump is elected...

And this is a "non-election" to you?
If you believe what they say they are going to do than it is a real election but have they not established that they are both pathological liars who will saying anything to grab power. Isn't it funny how Trump is always sabotaging himself when he starts to get ahead. Do you really think Hillary will be a voice for the people? She is lying. She has walked the Trump talk and her buddy Trump just runs his mouth to make her look better. Do you really buy all the lies Hillary says when she has constantly been a proponent of the rich and powerful. What will happen is she will pretend to oppose what she promised to go against but conveniently lose to her rich owners. She has a leash so look at her owner not the dog. So yes I see this as a non election. I see Trump and Hillary as the same person so how is this a real election?

This may be our last four years as a country. The plutocrats have won. Bark the company song...or die.

There might be some truth to this conspiracy theory
Wikileaks - Podesta Emails
1) Force all Republican candidates to lock themselves into extreme conservative positions that will hurt them in a general election;
2) Undermine any credibility/trust Republican presidential candidates have to make inroads to our coalition or independents;
3) Muddy the waters on any potential attack lodged against HRC.
Operationalizing the Strategy
Pied Piper Candidates
There are two ways to approach the strategies mentioned above. The first is to use the field as a whole to inflict damage on itself similar to what happened to Mitt Romney in 2012. The variety of candidates is a positive here, and many of the lesser known can serve as a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right. In this scenario, we don’t want to marginalize the more extreme candidates, but make them more “Pied Piper” candidates who actually represent the mainstream of the Republican Party. Pied Piper candidates include, but aren’t limited to:
• Ted Cruz
• Donald Trump
• Ben Carson
We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to them seriously.

I completely agree with you on all of this. I've been saying it since last October. There was no way everything that he "believed"(he used to support single-payer health care and other things more liberal publicly) before announcing his candidacy just changed a complete 180. It's all a load of bull crap.
I had suspicions about the corruption of American politics for years. Now Hillary has convinced me that it's all fixed. There is no way she got more votes than Bernie Sanders and many examples of her changing the rules to her advantage. I have only voted once in 2004 when I was first able to. I don't plan to do it again. Only Bernie could have changed that for me.
Trump is where he is so people can believe they won. Just as I thought would be the case Hillary's whole pitch is that she is not him and we can't risk him so she is therefor qualified. She can't say much about herself no one likes her and she knows this. A system like North Kora is really not that productive because people know they are in a cage. If you can make the person think they have chosen not to be a in cage they are going to work harder. America follows this philosophy. But when you think about it isn't it a bit ridiculous that you are told you HAVE to be in one of the parties. Everything you think has to fit in two boxes that are forever at each others throats. The trend of this "election" is canceling out the others guys vote. That happens a lot but it's the only thing that matters to Americans now.
Trump needs to loose to keep the illusion of democracy alive. If he was more reasonable he would not be here. As much as I dislike him he is 100% correct when he talks about the system being rigged. He could have easily been shut down and "not gotten enough votes" like Sanders. But Bernie is powerful and would be a choice people would consider. Even those who are afraid of Socialism. Trump looses his power the more you let him look like a buffoon. Sure his supporters will feel the same way after the election but he's just not the same kind of threat to the status quo Sanders was.

In other news, strategists strategize!
This appears to a be a sensible approach to using weaknesses in the Republican party against it. Why this would be seen as shocking, coming from a Democratic strategist is hard to understand.
Now if Trump was a democrat, just pretending to be a racist, misogynist, nuke-lovin' weasel without a clue, then I would think you were on to something. But there is every reason to believe he is the genuine article.
