Is that what hillbillies say when they see a car that they like? "NAS CAR. Real NAS."

Sure, I grew up around hot rods and drag racing, and I'll watch about any kind of motorsports. Unfortunately my favorite NASCAR driver – Mark Martin – has retired, and I haven't really found a new guy to root for.

no i do not like it now.
before my time, nascar meant "north american stock car" and that meant they were stock standard in specification and not specially built racing models not available to the public.
there was an old saying "race them on sunday and sell them on monday".
the old nascar races were very exciting because they showed what the stock standard automobiles of the day could achieve. the only alterations they had were roll cages. obviously the models raced were the top of the line engine models that were available, but nowadays, they all look like scalectric track slot cars and there is no fun in watching the physics.

i think this is an example of extremely commendable performance and driving capacity.
1965 (by the way an average speed of 102 mph on a winding circuit means short bursts of 130+mph)

i know this is not a real car or a nascar race, but it shows how a stock standard 283 v8 1957 chev belair performs under maximum acceleration with fidelity. i just think it would be so interesting to see an old bloke with a pipe in his mouth and a hat on driving this car to a meeting he is late for. top speed run down the straight.
