Title basically but it seems counter productive,

If its sensitive then would it not be private?

Why is the site setup this way?

I don't know the answer to that, but I have wondered about it too. Haven should be members only IMO.

I would third that, unless there is another reason that has not come to mind, maybe Alex can fill us in on this one? :)

In the past, Alex has said words to the effect of it might help logged-out users if they can see that other people have had problems.

I agree. It should be members only.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I like that the haven is an open forum. It makes sense to me that it would be. I think on it like, there are people out there who might be too shy or nervous to join who are dealing with some heavy stuff and being able to see the haven could be really beneficial to them by finding things they can relate to. One of those threads might be what that person needed to see/hear that day.

Also, a lot of us joined here or found this place after some bad things happened in life... maybe getting fired from a job or a spouse leaving or whatever... and maybe that kind of crisis is what would lead to an eventual late life dx. For people like that browsing here and wondering if they want to join, the haven might be the thing that gets them on board because it could be easier to relate to what is discussed there than what is discussed in places like general autism or ppr or whatever.

Yup good point! :) ... I suppose if people do want to keep it a little more private they can post in the members only section... It can sometimes be hard finding the balance as i see logic from both sides of the fence, so to speak :)
