Why aren't more aspies into smaller government?

I'm asking, why does there seem to be a lot of left-wing aspies and other minorities, but it's hard to find aspies, disabled, or other minorities who are more into smaller government? I know that on the left, they argue that libertarian societies can't provide effective welfare or charity, but the thing with an increasing power of the government is that they can take away the rights of those groups who they want to help in the first place. The very thought of how we might very soon live in a 1984 big-brother kind of society makes me very sick.

I'm not big with identity politics either. Why would I want to categorize myself by my diagnosis? I fear that's what the government will do someday, use their categorizing of different groups to marginalize those groups and take away their rights.

Smaller government to me would mean massive changes to health care, which is something I cannot support. While I do agree that the government should not be in every facet of someone's business, the healthcare issue to me is too great to ignore.

It's a mystery to me also. I have no good answers. All I can think is that aspies are primates just like NT humans, and a lot of them just want to join what they think is the cool group (the left).
