Do/Can the special interests of Asperger's decline in intensity as one grows older?

I'm still fairly young, but there are some things (not necessarily "special interests") that I have grown out of. I used to associate myself very strongly with my favourite fictional characters (when I absolutely loved Waluigi after Mario Tennis came out I used to wear lots of purple, when I loved Mello from Death Note I used to wear rosaries and leather) but no longer do so.

My special interests have waxed and waned over time though- I'm not too interested in television idents and presentation at the moment though it'll probably come back to me at some point.

I myself am 23.

I'm just worried that I largely destroyed my special interest in politics and economics, and it feels like I have no special interest now. Since I'm not as much into politics/economics as I used to be, therefore I can't make a bridge to connect it to physics and thus get interested in physics.

The only thing I can really focus on and read is stuff that pertains to politics/economics, I enjoy it, but it's like I don't have the drive anymore to really pursue it.

I'm also on a high dose of an SNRI, I'm worried that since it counter-acts obsessions/obsessive thinking, that it is acting in a way detrimental to especially me developing new special interests.

Um yes, but every autistic is difference, some people on the spectrum can have a special interest for 2 weeks or others are interested for years, decades or even lifetimes.

Ive been interested in sonic for 7 years, i was 12 when i became interested and its become less intesne but still very focoused

All my life, I was interested in accumulating every possible bit of knowledge on a favorite topic. This knowledge is stored in my long-term memory.

I have been interested in watching tennis since about 2005. I began taking lessons in July of 2015.

My most enduring special interest has been animals, particularly cats. My pets weren't just a special interest to me-they were a lifeline in bad times and a life enhancer in good times.
