I am a librarian, parent to two autistic kids, who's looking for some feedback about a gaming club that I'm creating. I'm specifically looking to appeal to kids and teens who have difficulty making/keeping friends, be that because of autism, tourettes, or general introversion.

I'm hoping to get some new perspectives, and some advice on how to make this genuinely successful and useful for kids who need it. I'm seeing all too well just how much my own kids are struggling to make friends, and I know they're not alone in that.

I'm very much aware that I need input if I want this to work, and I'm making contact with various local self-advocacy groups. I know that Wrong Planet, which I discovered when my kids were younger, has exactly the voices that I need to hear...but I don't want to intrude into a space that's not mine, and certainly not without asking first. Hence, this post.

Would a discussion about these topics be welcome here? And if so, which forum would be the most appropriate?

If it's unwelcome, I completely understand and will trouble Wrong Planet no more.

I would assume your work as a librarian might give you access to some great resources, and I cannot imagine anyone here objecting to your asking for some input, suggestions, advice or whatever...and I would guess "General Autism Discussion" might be a good spot.
