TL;DW: The permafrost in the arctic contains trapped methane. Methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas than CO2.

Thus, global warming will just keep speeding up.

Think that a little bit of warming is no big deal? A "little warming" will lead to a ton of warming. Earth's temperature will rise much more than you think.

Yep, and now the United States is being run by a man who thinks that global warming is a hoax, that CFC's don't harm the ozone layer, and that our money is best spent building walls that won't even prevent illegal immigration.

If the permafrost melted which it won't then it would open millions upon millions of acres of land to potential use. I'm not too concerned about silly Al Gore predictions tho, you should be smarter than that.

If you had any brains at all, you would know that Al Gore didn't make up global warming. Global Warming was predicted by scientists as early as 1890. The scientific community has been warning us about it for over a century and we still refuse to listen.

Were you researching it in 1890 or did you find out about it because those pwoor wittle penguins and polar bears? Do you consider yourself part of this 'scientific community?'

I don't care about penguins and polar bears, I care about humans because we are the ones who have coastal cities which will flood if permafrost melts. And just so you know, it has a general downward trend which has caused the global sea level to rise a few inches. It won't give us more land because even though there is land under the ice said ice would make the sea levels rise which would put existing land under water, land that we are using.
