There's one owrd that I hate more than anything. That word is underwear. I've made the mistake of bringning my laundry to my parents place. My mum was folding my laundry. She asked me what the hell I was using for underwear. I'm afraid to tell her that I use incontinence products. I've accepted my soiling problem and so have my closest friends. I'm afraid that my mother will never accept it. This will hopefully be the first night that I'll be staying the night at her place, in more than two months. Should I stay the night, or go back to my place. I'm afraid that I'll have a Chocolate Suprize, while I'm sleeping and stink up the room that I'll be sleeping in, and she will be looking for dog poop, or yelling at me. I have flashbacks of getting yelled at for having my last accidents, before the age of six. After she asked what the hell I was using for underwear, I burried my body under the top blanket of the spare bed and started crying myself to sleep. I've realized that behaviour and nipped it in the bud, than I got out of that room and back onto WrongPlanet.
and good for you, too, CR.
I lived away from my parents and after 23 years went back to do one of the twelve steps of aa so I could stay sober. Cockney Rebel, I had worked with my sponsor for 3 years to prepare for that step, mapping out what to do if I got all
involved in mom's thinking by going to an aa meeting, getting someone to be a temporary sponsor in my mom and dad's town, etc, I mean, I was ready for ANYTHING. however, within two days I was reduced to crying, hiding in my mom's pantry, blubbering like a little kid over my mother being so damnedably rude to me. I had to think real hard to remember to pick myself up, wash my face and go call my sponsor and get to a meeting in order to defuse that old mother daughter connection timebomb.
And I was a better woman for it, too! When you have the key to the treasure, it is having the treasure itself!
Living well is the best revenge when you live around people like that. I do love the idea of taking a jaunt to the local thrift shop and buying some scandelous panties and a few good sturdy breast feeding bras! THAT is funny!
