Where to Paint and Do College Work Away from My Parents?
Here is the thing. I am 21 year old college student and I live my parents. (I know that is an issue but I am trying to change)
But anyway my parents are getting angrier and angrier by the day that I am living at home with them. (then why the hell did they let me live with them then?)
(Yes baby boomers I am trying to “GO GET A JOB” and I am working on my degree but this is NOT the 1950s with a booming economy where you can buy a house like a big mac! No guy my age in my region can buy a house and I am in a poor region of the Rustbelt of the U.S with a very bad economy. and I understand why my parents are mad. I am free loading but trying to change!)
I love to paint and am working on my college degree.
I need a place to get away from parents for a few hours while I work on my degree and paint.
Could I pull this off at a Mac Donalds or a star bucks / library ect.? I need internet for school work. How do I paint in a public area and not make a mess?
I want to do this to get out of parents hair! I noticed just my mere existence in the house makes them angry but when I leave for a few hours they are in a good mood and even make me dinner!
I just don’t want to rock the boat folks!
Thanks

Study in a library or at your school.
Paint outside, at a friend's place, at a community centre that has a space where it may be allowed etc. Use a drop sheet beneath you to prevent drops of paint from making a mess. Wear a paint smock/take a change of clothes.
Assuming you're attending classes vs online school, perhaps your school has a space you could use to paint sometimes?
The economy, whether lack of jobs or sky high real estate prices, has created more situations where adult children live in their parents' homes than ever. It's extremely common where I live. People have their frustrations, but they make it work.
Obviously your parents need a break from your presence now and then. Sounds like if they're in such a better mood when you return that maybe they're using this time to get it on. Just sayin'. ![]()
