Could this be due to dehydration ?

An aching lower back , a feeling in your crotch like you want to defecate, hip ache. My stepdaughter's wondering whether it's because I'm not drinking enough.

My simple assessment for hydration is whether my lips are moist or dry, but I don't know the false negative/positive rates on that. I use it when my kids are fevered also. If I get more dehydrated I get a headache. The only time I have had pain my lower and hips was due to stress response. The only time I felt like I had to defecate was related to gynecological issues.
