Would you vote for Trump in 2020 if:

Would you vote for Trump in 2020 if, totally unprompted, he quickly became an advocate and strong supporter of autistic people which including doing things like:

>Publicly acknowledging the talents, value and contributions that autistic make and are capable of making to society.
>Hiring and/or appointing autistic people to work in government positions.
>Encouraging bills to be written and then signing said bills into law that encourage employers to hire autistic people.
>Insisting that autistic people be part of the decision and policy making processes that are part of governance.
>Encourage education and awareness across the U.S. of autism and viewing autistics in a positive way (ie changing public opinion).
>In short, being a genuine champion of autistic people.

Therefore, for this thought exercise, rule out the idea that his motive with the above examples would be in any way disingenuous; on the contrary.

Of course this is a hypothetical. It's a thought exercise. You don't have to play if you don't want to, so please refrain from stating the obvious (e.g. "won't happen", "impossible", etc) and then not participating.

The question is, would you vote for him if the above happened, why or why not?

No.

Also: I'm pretty sure the government employs quite a few autustic people - economists, lawyers and such. They might not be diagnosed and very much on the high functioning end of the spectrum.
But my guess is that they are all somewhere in the 'deep state', crunching numbers and calculating risk.

No. And this is really imagining he cares about anything but his image .

It's not a big political issue for me. Not that I don't have concerns with every ASD kid getting adequate support. I think we can do more self promoting as adults to change attitudes. I will be trying to now, after a life of ignoring my self-diagnosis .

I have dreams of an unlikely scenario for 2020 however. If a Dem is cleaning up in the polls using climate change as a big issue, I could see him trying to steal the thunder and become uber-green to win.

That would be surreal because we have always been virtually out of the political limelight. At this point I think a third of the country and many talking heads would unconditionally impugn his motives for doing so. We might be widely viewed as pawns or metaphoric human shields.

I would prefer not to say if I'd vote for him. This would not change what I plan to do and I'll leave it at that.
