I'm doing OK. I've added 10% to my indoor bike mileage, and got tuckered from shifting snow on a cold day. I'm still not doing weights, but I'm learning to get up whenever my back complains, and dance/stretch until everything gets a good tug.
You need the genes to get to Rambo looks, but fitness is a wonderful anti-depressant. I got a re-start by walking outside, which was good for sun and contemplation. For most of my life, bicycle commuting covered it for me - on busy days, I got more exercise automatically, and always burned off any adrenalin instead of letting it fester.
One guy made a New Year's resolution to go to the gym, and was bored enough to keep it up even though he didn't see any results. Then it was time to mow the lawn, a job that had left him exhausted after 2 hours in the fall. He finished in 45 minutes, with energy to spare.
