This is brief: has anyone experienced losing their jobs, for whatever reason or circumstances, before or on their birthday on the pretense of a regular, scheduled meeting at work?

No, but that really sucks! They shouldn't blindside employees like that. Hope you find something better!

Why do you think you will lose your job?

That sounds really crappy; thank God my birthday isn't for another 8 months and 6 days (18 April - I spent this birthday in ICU - fun times). I got fired right before Memorial Day a few years ago (had a four day week to feel sorry for myself). Our company just fired 12 staff members right before fourth of July. Getting fired at Christmas would be terrible, or worse, getting fired right before your retirement vests (I know people who were fired the day before - some BS there).

Hopefully you're not going to lose your job.

Thanks everyone for the replies, but I have not yet been fired before a birthday. I just asked if it has happened at all to anyone on these forums.

Oh okay, sorry I misread. What prompted your question? Do you believe this may happen to you or someone you know in the future?

The only thing that has happened is that my job does the annual review during your birthday month. At my job, the only things that will definitely get you fired are theft and physical assault. Of course, due to the pandemic, we've been furloughed until probably January 2021. At the very least, my health insurance will continue to be paid for as long as needed, even though I got on unemployment.
