I have heard things like another thread here on WP that says that scientists are predicting that this century will be the humans last, and that things may be worse for us around 2050. I’ve also seen that the 2010s was the hottest decade ever recorded. Just the thought of humans ever going extinct terrifies me, not to mention it even starting to happen while I’m still alive, because then it feels as if the life we’re living now seems meaningless.

We are far from “endangered.” There are almost 8 billion humans now.

TWO scientists say that this century will be humanity's last.  That does not mean that ALL scientists say so.

Not that I don’t believe you but in that case, why would people write such articles?

Scientists are also predicting that in the next 50 years, ocean levels will rise 250 feet. That means half of Portland will be under water and we will have a bunch of islands. My house will be on a island. We would just rebuild and move downtown and build all these bridges and have ferries and maybe have Portland underwater tours and see the buildings peeking up from the water. We will probably have a lot of new beaches too.

Scientists have also been predicting that Portland area will get hit with a mega earthquake in my life time.

As my father always used to tell me, "worrying is a waste of time of energy." There is nothing you can do about it, if it happens it will. Worrying won't make it not happen and we don't know if it's going to even happen so worrying about it would be a waste of time, all that worry for nothing. Same reason why I don't worry about the corona, if I get it, I do, if I die, I do. I can't stop it and I won't live my life in fear for something that is a small chance.

I’m now seeing stuff about how a big chunk of costal cities will be underwater later this century and they seemed certain that it’ll happen. So perhaps eventually all the land will be sunk to the point that the world will be all ocean unless there’s a way that humans can prevent that from happening.

WaterWorld is impossible rest assured. Not enough water to do that. Humans in rich countries will adapt without too much issue. Look at the Netherlands. These issues are going to be worse for poor countries.

People will move out of their homes and move their businesses before any of this happens.

There was a town that fell into the sea here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayocean, ... mook%20Bay.

And in California, they are having issues with houses falling into the sea too.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/dramatic-phot ... belongings.

It is already happening and has been for decades already.

Also, our world will never be all under water, scientists have said Waterworld was inaccurate. Oceans will not rise that high even if the ice caps melt.

I wish humans would go extinct. Not immediately, but gradually and voluntarily.
Thank you for not breeding.

On a long enough time line the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

If there is any life forms anywhere in the universe, the elimination of homo sapien sapiens would be a godsend.

Everything that's alive on earth today can trace an unbroken line of reproduction probably back to the first life forms on earth ~3.5 billion years ago.

The majority of lifeforms on earth that have existed no longer exist.

They’re not talking about sea levels rising 250 feet in 50 years.

They’re talking about sea levels rising a few feet—which could cause problems, but nothing like “submerging Portland, Oregon.” Portland is not a coastal city, anyway.
