Apparently no scientists believe the universe is finite and bounded. They believe that if the universe is finite that it is unbounded meaning if you kept traveling you'd eventually wound up back where you started.

What would the universe be like if it was finite and bounded? What would happen if a spacecraft traveled to the edge? Would it get destroyed? Would it just stop moving? Would it be forced to start moving in the other direction?

Probably time flow would change in a way that would fundamentally require infinite time to get to the edge - similarily to black holes but for the spacecraft too, not just for the distant observer.

It would look much the same as it does now.  Depending on its volume, however, people in such a universe could use a powerful-enough telescope and see themselves looking back.

There would be no 'edge', only a continuation.  It would be similar to travelling above the equator, in that you would eventually return to your point of origin without having changed direction.

If you traveled there you find tourist traps run by local aliens where you could dine while gazing at the Edge of the Universe. Beyond the edge of the universe there would be no matter, no energy, and....no empty space. Thats because space itself is a "thing", and it is what is actually expanding. So you would be able to see the thing (whatever it is) that empty space is expanding into.

My theory? Our Universe is one of the holes in a giant sponge. So at the edge of the Universe you would see the brown sponge material that surrounds the expanding bubble of empty space (upon which all matter including us and our planet )rides. :D

Judgement day will be when God squeezes the sponge, and we all get flushed out by the dirty soap water sopped up by God while he does his dishes.

There is the edge of observable universe - the time light needs to travel from there is equal to the age of the Universe. Looking that far we look back in time.
No reason for anything special to happen there, it's about possible observations from Earth's neighborhood.
