Job search frustration
Hi everyone, I'd like to talk to you about my recent frustration about job searching.
I'll start by explaining what frustrates me the most. First of all, thanks to my Aspergers I had years of difficulty finding a job and staying with that job. I give up too quicky / easily, or get exhausted fast because of my aspergers. I also dont always enjoy social encounters at work, especially with rude people. However, I also dont enjoy jobs that requires working almost all day 8 - 10 hours, and they dont even pay so well. So, what frustrates me is I cant seem to find a job that suits my needs - pays well, not too difficult, and not too many hours a day.
I can work part-time job and can proudly call myself an employed person, but I'd get paid so little it'd make me disappointed having to limit my expenses because of that. But I'd also be frustrated / exhausted from a full time job. Almost all jobs that pay well requires a lot of education, which I dont have due to the problems at school with other children and not going for college/uni altogether.
What else? I also dont have the patience or energy to start studying. Not that I cant, I just wouldnt enjoy it and would find it a waste of time sometimes.
So when I do my job search, I find a lot of different jobs but none of them match what I'm looking for. And it seems what I'm looking for doesnt exist, or is very rare to find.
All of this has nothing to do with the virus, I had the same issues before the virus existed.
I was curious to find out if anyone else had experienced a similar thing, or was in a situation like that and can explain to me what did you do, if at all, and if did you just go with a job that pays little but doesnt make you exhausted, or work at something that is exhausting for many hours, but enjoy a higher income.

Pre covid was difficult for me to find jobs as well.... during covid, it feels near impossible.
I very much relate to the struggle
What topics are you interested in? Maybe there are ways that a job could relate to these topics? It would make a job more meaningful and therefore less boring/exhausting.
It is not a complete cure all, but I think it helps to make a job more tolerable (or daresay, enjoyable!)
I wish you all the best ![]()

I find job searching to be very tedious. Like you said, it's really hard to find a job in your field, which you fit the requirements for, and that has a suitable
environment. Then once you do you spend hours tailoring a resume and cover letter, filling out their online forms, and submitting the finished application. All this work and 98% of the time, despite how well you meet the requirements and how well you follow all of the resume guidelines, you never hear from them. It's a ridiculous process.
I wish I had good tips to share with you.
