Was Jesus an aspie?

Im new at this, although my aspergerdiagnosis is 4 years old. As I my interest for the syndrom grew, I found great comfort in that many of the famous people I admired showed aspie chararistics. So was Jesus an aspie?

Just with a lot of 'famous dead people' it's very hard to give a definite 'diagnosis' post-humously though some are easier if there is more personal documentation and such.

Oh well. At least we are still discussing these people instead of forgetting them and their deeds. These are only tohse who deserve to be remembered I am talking about.

Before I tackled the question of whether Jesus was an Aspie or not, I'd be interested in determining if there ever was a 'real' Jesus.

Yes there was. The Romans have documented him as existing.

The italian author Luigi Cascioli, in his book "The fable of Christ", shows that Jesus Christ is a fabrication of the church based on Paul from Tarsus' life as a revolutionary zealot.

I do not believe you. I believe he was real.

The existence of Jesus is really a matter of faith. When it comes to real historical evidence, it could go either way. If it makes anyone feel better to believe such a man existed, then you should go ahead and do it regardless of what anyone else says. However, don't confuse that belief or faith with undisputable fact. Many scholars, for instance, reject the "miracles" and "supernatural" events associated with Jesus. Quite a few even think that there never was a man named Jesus, but rather these acts by one or more men were attributed to a fictional Jesus created through storytelling. In other words, it made a much better story and could be passed down easily. Paul never even met Jesus, which I think is not a disputed fact at this point.

Let me just put it this way... I don't think there is sufficient evidence to prove that there was a man named Jesus who did the things that he supposedly did.

D<b></b>amn it, I can't find his book ! Anyway, I'll try to quote from memory. As far as I can remember, he says that 1) there are very suprisingly few historical records referring to some "Jesus" ; he gives some authors (historians I guess) who do not mention any Jesus at all where there would have been expected to ; and that 2) the church is known to have a bad habit of altering, forging or destroying documents. Anyway, his central assertion is that the chuch invented Jesus based on the life of Paul from Tarsus, and the main proof is an analysis of the geographical descriptions found in the bible, which match with places where Paul from Tarsus' is known to have lived, and not with the purported places of living of Jesus.

Well, I can't say I'm an expert or even decided either way, but it's pretty interesting stuff.

tom, yes, I believe that was his name. According to a documentary I watched on Jesus which was on around this last Easter stated this chronicler was the first reference to Jesus from a little after that time, and just about the only one-- other than the pieces of the New Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls and the writings of Thomas I think (could be wrong).

Very little information on Jesus. But nevertheless, he's there so sayeth this chronicler.

Don't know much else than that though.
