Just Joined Recently diagnosed 40 year old

I joined the site today though I browsed for year or two and just received my diagnosis this summer at 43 after years of struggling in school, socially and with employment.

I’m joining the site because my therapist told me too lol. The majority of my interest are normal, sports, movies. I used to do stand up comedy and now do screenwriting but am socially awkward and never had many real friends mostly people I let take advantage of me.

A little more about me. I’m a life long New Yorker, a loved Uncle and care about Britney Spears more than the majority of my family lol.

I hate the bus and always get lost lol. So last month I did Uber but had the wrong address and had to pay the guy extra to reroute and it cost me $50 to go to the doctor lol.

Yes. I followed the forum for a while first and did find it helpful to see others having the same issues I have, also depressing to see many haven’t figured out a way to deal with it. But I’m over my crying phase, I literally cried until my body won’t let me anymore.
