It is a basic 6th-grade vocabulary.

As far as I can see, the primary purpose of the website is not to expand a person's vocabulary, nor to act as a thesaurus, but to act as an aid to fiction writers when they are writing scenes.

For example, if the average person were asked to write a scene on an airplane, would they be able to come up with all the sights, sounds and smells listed on the website off the top of their head? I doubt it.

Oh, I see . . . so if a person has never ridden in an airplane, then a list of words like, "noisy, crowded, odorous, cramped, and uncomfortable" would be useful to them.

Why not just imagine a crowded CTA bus with wings?
