Major a**hole (husband) called me:
Lovey

Dick (pseudopartner) called me:
Sweetie

Prick (not a partner, just a weirdo) called me:

Usually, just my name or a shortened version thereof.

I only used pet names with my first boyfriend, and they were similar to the ones he called me.

It was very silly, but I guess first relationships often are.

I have had 2 real girlfriends and then got married.

I can remember my first gf calling me by the usual diminutive form of my name, then saying at one point that she'd stop because it seemed childish.

My second gf started calling me Shorty during the latter part of the relationship. Probably meant what you're thinking, although we never discussed it.

Early in our marriage, I can recall my wife calling me Puppy Chow. Lately she calls me Winky sometimes. She's probably used other names over the years.

I'd feel ridiculous using the standard ones with my partner. I could never call her "Baby" or "Sweetheart". I have my own pet name for her and about 10 variations on it which constantly evolve, I rarely use her real name.

Sometimes I'll adopt the accent of a cockney barrow-boy and call her 'treacle' but with a soft r. Like, "Alwight, tweacle?" It's not as insipid as it sounds in writing! And it's a joke, really. It's an impression of a character who used to be in a soap opera.

The name she uses for me is a variation on my real name and it's also the username of someone who posts here from time to time. So it's always weird for me to see that name.

I'm still friends with the one who called me Baby. Now he uses my real name and that's even more annoying, especially because he uses it repeatedly in texts. It's weird to me because most people don't name the person in a text, do they? I don't call friends anything when I text them. His are like, "Hello Isabella ..." and it feels like a business meeting.

Occasionally, I’d call my husband “dear,” but it was always ironically. It wasn’t a term of endearment. He’d flip out when I’d call him by his actual name.

I was thinking that it would be fun to have a thread where we gave each other pet names, but it would probably descend into snide remarks and insults.

It was always my name + a foreign name suffix like the Polish -ski, for example.

I have a very nicknameable name apparently. Pretty much everyone I know calls me by a nickname they've come up with or one they've chosen as their favourite. It's always weird when I'm addressed by my actual name because it almost never happens.

^ I go by a nickname. I’m rarely called by my real name. I prefer the nickname. When my parents used my real name with me when I was a kid, I knew that I was in trouble.

I just realized some of them cannot be repeated here...

M used to use my last name a lot, or "dude" or "honey" (that one was just her being an ass... she loved coming up with outrageous, saccharine names for kicks)

J HATED me using terms of endearment with her. Though my first initial and/or "babe" and "sweety" were common ways she referred to me.

I had an ex who used to call me by my middle name. I think that's the closest I've come to having a name like that with someone.
