Anyone remember this game for the original NES?

It was like a South Pacific version of the Legend of Zelda.

Oh yes. I remember playing it for hours. I beat it several times. I remember being terribly frustrated with the spaceship stages near the end. I always kept dying over and over again. They don't make adventure games hard like that anymore. I also remember one stage where you get swallowed by a whale. A lot of the stuff in that game was kind of random.

I rented it and remember thinking it was pretty interesting. I have a feeling I would have gotten stuck in it though.

Yeah, I used to have that game. It was a really good game;; too bad it seems to have been overlooked as one of the all-time best NES games. If Nintendo brought it back on its Virtual Console, I'd consider getting it again.

Very unique game, shame Zoda's Revenge didn't live up to the original.

I think I still have it! In fact, I'm sure I do. I'll check my old gametapes once I get out of class... get me out of class!!

I remember it was fun once you got past the pretty steep early difficulty, and the fact that instant, random death could strike anytime.
