The post office didn't care about my ID being expired when I was picking up an international package that required a signature & ID but I also had the tracking number. There was a time when Our former Rite Aid had a policy about checking IDs for everyone buying cough syrup & they were OK with my ID being expired but it was not a federal policy & I was in my 30s. Walgreens was OK with my ID being expired when picking up prescribed controlled meds like benzodiazepines & stimulants but I still had to give them the name & address. It woulda been different if I was trying to buy Sudafed because it doesn't require a prescription but it's a somewhat controlled substance so they need to type my ID number into the computer system. BTW my ID has never been expired by more than half a year.
