Introducing myself - hello!
After lurking here for a while without an account, i have decided to make one and hopefully contribute a little. This place seems great, i'm really glad i found it. I hope not to commit any accidental faux pas, last time i frequented a forum was around 10 years ago.
I'm 23 years old, living in Germany, though i grew up in Poland. It doesn't matter how you refer to me, i chose 'Non-binary' for my profile because i don't particularly care. No need to keep gender-neutral with me either.
I am autistic and while i don't have learning disabilities, i struggle greatly with sensory issues and self regulation. Despite never having problems in school when it came to grades, i was forced to quit because of frequent meltdowns and psych ward stays. I am currently a NEET, which frustrates me to no end because i would love to pursue further education. I am hoping to achieve that with therapy and social worker's support. I am hoping to meet people with similar struggles to mine, i think it would make me feel less alone.
I enjoy anything that has to do with nature (i like identifying plants and insects) and biotech, dental tech, arts and crafts (i like to draw, paint, crochet, stitch, write poems, etc.) and playing video games (i love 'The Binding of Isaac'). 'Lego Ninjago' is also a big interest of mine, as well as Tamagotchi. I am not particularly interested in TV otherwise as i did not grow up with it much.
Particular interests that i would like to get into more are webdev and local medieval history.
Hopefully that wasn't too much for a first post. If you have any questions or comments, i would love to read them! Hopefully i won't be just a lurker here from now on.

^ I don't know on what stage you've stopped, but high-school or even college can be done on-line nowadays, even in craphole like Poland. That's how I'm going thru my college right now, without need to visit that work camp but for workshops (which are rare)
Welcome to WP!
This forum is very tolerant & forgiving so well, no worries.

My undiagnosed pedantic self 15 years ago: That's a silly thing to be afraid of. Imagine real danger. Pfft!

Welcome to the most amazing planet you'll ever find in your interplanetary wanderings! The climate is mostly temperate but with a few frozen areas (dormant threads) and some very hot areas (Love and Dating, PPR etc)

Hello,
I am too from poland. Just moved back here last years after 20 years abroad and just self-diagnosed. Welcome.
Also into arts and writing, and nature. Hope you will find here a good community. I'm still new but feel that people are nice

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.
Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!
That's what i am planning to do! I already found a school to join and now i am prepping myself to start with my social worker and therapist. It just takes annoyingly long for me to learn how to take care of myself again, haha. I can't wait to start learning though. I got a 10th year diploma (i guess high school?) and now i want to lean towards a work diploma.
I don't think i would be able to do manual work outside due to sensory and unrelated physical issues that i don't want to disclose, but i would love to start some kind of volunteer work once i can! Maybe i could try growing plants at home though.
That seems like a good start! There's so much to learn about plants, you can easily fall into a special interest for a while.

I didn't know what Tamagotchi was so I looked it up.
The human brain is much more complex then most people realize. That is because most people have multiple brains that work together. In a sense we have multiple people living inside us. Generally the left side of the brain is the dominant brain, the daytime brain. The right side of our brain becomes our night time sleep brain. But some of us have a brain flip. We switch sides. That happened to me when I was around 3 or 4, when I was struck by a large bull. It weighed about 100 times more then myself. It was like being attacked by a dinosaur.
So what advice can I pass along to you. First of all you have a right side dominant brain. This side excels in art, music, story writing, and a variety of other skills. You wrote, "(i like identifying plants and insects)", "(i like to draw, paint, crochet, stitch, write poems, etc.)" That is some of the characteristics of a right side dominant brain. The secret for us is to use our special skills, skills that many people do not possess to overcome our weaknesses. So become the best you can be.

A very unique plan. As Dr. Paul Thompson wrote, "This is the very best paper on the virus I have ever seen."
This is an autism forum, so it's pretty much our innate specialty. As far as I'm concerned, please feel free to be yourself and not worry much about fauxes and pases.
I think the same way.
I'm in a similar situation, though 20 years ahead in age. I'm trying to re-calibrate and engage in a new something to get going, but first I need to find out how to manage all this AuDHD and letting go of baggage since intrahead space is limited on my flight.
I used to be into identifying plants during COVID. I even tried unsuccessfully to become a amateur farmer in my backyard. In case you haven't heard of it, I found the Picture This app super helpful at the time.
Binding of Isaac looks very similar to the first Zelda for NES. I want to get it. Do you recommend the Wrath of the Lamb DLC? I would prefer to avoid it if it gives me too much of an unfair advantage that makes the game boring.
Me too! I've been testing the waters with those topics. I don't know why, but medieval history seems appealing to me. I guess I'll find out why once I learn about it. Webdev is appealing because it seems like such a helpful skill that you can use from home to help others. You can use it to give the voiceless a voice and help build communities that would otherwise be a set of isolated individuals.
The way I'm thinking about that feeling/belief is that it's not too much. It's extra. Extra is great for people that want more than the standard. If someone doesn't want more, then can just leave it. Bonus: an alien is also called an extraterrestrial (aka "extra" for short).
This is literally how I feel. There's a second person in my body working in the background. They can't communicate to me explicitly via thoughts, but they manage to get my attention through other means. I'm learning how to hear them.
