“We” did not win those wars. We jumped in late in both of those wars. The British held the Nazis off by their lonesome for two years before we got directly involved. The Soviet Union made the biggest sacrifices in the defeat of Nazi Germany. Unlike most combatants our homeland was barely touched . I am not downplaying our important role in defeating Germany twice. Trump not acknowledging the role of these other countries is an insult to them arguably more than his insistence that Canada is the 51st state.
World War Two did not end on May 8th. It ended informally August 15th when Japan surrendered and formally on September 2nd when Japan signed the surrender documents. America did play the largest in that victory. Trump’s not acknowledging this is an insult to all those who fought in the Pacific theater.
No surprise, Trump has repeatedly shown contempts for soldiers.
In principle I have no objection to the concept.
