Is he what he was a decade ago? No. Dementia is a term for a specific set of symptoms that is lot more than normal aging. Just last year he went through rigorous campaign that would have had more noticeable effects on people half his age. He just completed a mideast trip without noticeable jet lag.

Do I think he has mental illnesses that has been exacerbated by constantly getting most everything he wants? Yes.

IMHO the whole Trump has dementia thing is a direct result of what happened to Biden and is wishful thinking. I guess it is comforting in a schadenfreude way to believe that what took down the person one thought had ended the Trump era will take down Trump.

Hasn't he been making tens of thousands of public announcements and speeches nearly every day for over a decade.
It may be that he can no longer keep track of all that he has said or posted to social media.

If he isn't senile now, that suggests he's always had pablum for brains but older interviews don't really hold that out.

Even if he doesn't meet the diagnostic criteria for a specific form of dementia, the man seems to clearly suffering from obvious mental decline. Further, he shows evidence of sundowning with his regular agitated and confused evening/late-night social media dumps.

He definitely has some sort of mental issue. He's clearly a narcissist and has zero sense of empathy. Personally, I think he's also mildly autistic and might even be dyslexic (hence the basic spelling errors on social media). He's got plenty of cognitive issues but I don't think dementia is one of them.

I'd say he's a scatterbrain. That doesn't really effect someone's cognitive abilities, but it does lead to disjointed speaking where the person is all over the place on what they're talking about.
