For years, I have wanted to change my first name and have been going by a different name since.
I recently started the process of changing my name legally and decided, since it's a hassle, that I may as well change my second name as I don't particularly care for that either.

I sent the form away and was emailed back after a couple of days with details on how to finalise everything. I have until December to cancel.

However, the day I sent off the form, I had a mild bout of panic and nausea, thought it was from other news received earlier in the day, so I moved on. The email with the finalisation details has caused the same thing, more extreme and distressing.

I can't figure out if this is due to aversion to change, thinking about the upcoming admin I'll need to do or if this is actually something I don't really want! :(

It can be hard for those on the spectrum to change stuff.

I really ought to stop taking the car to the dealership and go to an independent service center in town.
The owner of the service center is a fan of my rose garden!

Yeah, change is really hard. I am planning to move out of my house and into a smaller house. It's my choice -- the house upkeep will be easier and all the monthly bills will be lower -- but it still makes me ill to think about it. It'll probably take me more than a year to actually move.

I want to change my name to a name that is easier to hear when telling others even with good hearing, but it'll be difficult for others to adjust to my new name when they've always known me as what I was named at from birth.

Changing names would mean a lot of paperwork. Bank accounts, driver's licence, utility bills, etc. That wouldn't be something I would be looking forward to. I'd rather keep my life as simple as possible.

I've considered changing my last name before but have never been really looked into it. I'm in the USA and I fear it would be just a nightmare to deal with. Bank accounts, credit cards, car title, stuff at work, and on and on.

I suggest talking in-person to married women you know.

Many of them have personal experience with that kind of change.
