Delayed or slow processing
https://aspiedent.com/blog/do-you-have-delayed-processing/
Driving from the beach yesterday, my wife and I agreed we would stop at antique places along the way. We were on the main route and the speed limit was 55mph however there were a handful of these places, however by the time I was able to process all the visual information that identified a place as an antique dealer it was too late to safely stop and turn in. If all potential customers had that problem, they'd never get any business.

I fit the descriptions of both. I'm diagnosed with dyslexia & ADD but I think the ADD may be something like Sluggish Cognitive Tempo or Maldaptive Daydreaming instead of the ADD or some combo of 2 or all 3. Some say that Autistic brains are like Apple computers & that NT brains are like Windows computers. However I feel like my brain is a computer from the mid 90s & most every one else's brain is a computer from this decade including lots who post on this forum. I zone out & daydream aLOT. I'm slow to learn things & I tend to avoid trying to learn various things because it takes so much mental effort & some things I cant seem to really understand. I sometimes don't notice right away when others are trying to talk to me. Even when paying attention I may not process what they said till the moment I start asking them to repeat themselves. Sometimes I start talking & lose my train of thought & forget what I was planing to say or where I was going with it because the person I was talking to said something & by the time I processed that I forgot what I was saying. Sometimes I suddenly realize things from when I was a teenager that I never understood till recently or even today that most other high-schoolers would of known at the time. Sometimes I don't realize things till I read about it on this forum or other places online & then things suddenly click. I'm good at keeping track of time but it takes me aLOT longer to perform various tasks like household chores than most others do. I know how much time is passing without looking at a watch but it's like my body is moving extremely slow but does not appear to be moving slow to others watching me & I'm constantly moving while performing the task.
