Greatest Misspeaks
Sometimes my English.EXE glitches or stops working, and I say things wrong or completely blank on a word, and thought it might be fun to share some of the funnier ones.
For example the other day when chatting with my mum and sister, we were going over the origins of our first names. I said mine was from Shakespeare and meant to say it came from the play "The Merchant of Venice", but instead I ended up saying something that was more akin to "The Virgin of Menace", and we had a good laugh about that.
A more embarrassing one would be, back in Year 4 or Year 5, I was happily writing away at my essay in school, when I came to a sudden halt and dread fell upon me as I asked myself "How do I spell 'we'?" I spent an ashamedly long time (maybe, twenty or more minutes?) trying to figure out how it's spelt. "Okay, it begins with a 'W' I know that, is it I-E, or...?" I was panicking as well because the teacher was doing rounds of the tables, and I didn't want to ask her how to spell the word. I managed to figure it out in time and mentally slapped myself for not being able to remember how to spell a two letter word.
Anyway, figured I'd share it out and see if anyone else has similar stories to share. Apologies if this has already been posted before.
