An Autistic Voice for Enlightenment vs Endarkenment

I haven’t posted here in years, but WrongPlanet was one of my earliest online homes. Back in 2010 I first found this community, and it was here that I started to understand myself better and embrace being autistic. A lot of who I am today was shaped by conversations I had on this forum. Since then life has taken some unexpected turns, and the biggest one yet is that I’m now running for the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 20A. I’m not a career politician. I’m a janitor and a former truck driver. But too many people I live and work alongside are being crushed by the cost of housing and the grind of endless workweeks, and I couldn’t keep silent anymore. I’m running on what I call a platform of Space and Time. Space means housing sovereignty, affordable, energy-independent homes that families can actually own without being trapped by rent or debt. Time means workweek liberation, using the technology we already have to shorten the workweek, give people their lives back, and make sure the abundance we create is shared fairly. The bigger picture that frames everything for me is what I call Enlightenment vs Endarkenment. The Enlightenment was about liberty, equality, dignity, and evidence. The Endarkenment drags us backward into hierarchy, fear, and obedience. Every issue I talk about boils down to that divide, whether we’re building a freer, fairer society or sliding into control and precarity. I know this community understands what it’s like to be outside the “normal” way of doing things, and how much clearer your perspective gets from that vantage point. I wanted to share where I’ve ended up, and what I’m trying to do with it. If anyone’s curious, I’ll happily go into more detail, but mostly I just wanted to reconnect and say that the spirit of what I learned here is alive in my campaign.

Have you thought about an apartment house equivalent of what you call "sovereign homes"?

That would be needed in densely populated cities.

I like your platform, and I sincerely wish you the best in your campaign. Having said this, there is no magic wand anyone can wave, to make all the narcissists of the world disappear. To my mind, it's due in no small part to their grandiose, sky's-the-limit entitlement which drags humanity again and again towards what you're calling "endarkenment". You can't wave any magic wand to remove the "endarkenment", just like you can't wave any magic wand to stop the narcissists of the world - they occur and generate naturally in this world, endlessly. They very craftily seize whatever power they can for their own enrichment at everyone else's great expense. In what way do you propose to get them to stop this grandiosity, entitlement, and exploitative leveraging of others which they invariably drive towards?

The DFL is the Minnesota Democratic Party, apologies, I forget that this is deep cut Minnesota lore. A long time ago the Democratic Party of Minnesota merged with the Farmer-Labour Party, forming the Democratic-Farmer-Labour Party, or the DFL. The plan is to print 5000 homes between 2028-2030, then 250,000 Sovereign Homes by 2040. For apartment complexes in the future, however, I am imagining something along the lines of the Venus Project's apartments of detachable modular homes on a central tower.

I don’t believe in magic wands either, that’s actually why I frame things the way I do. “Endarkenment” isn’t just about bad ideas or bad people; it’s about material conditions and systems that breed those behaviors and incentives. Narcissism, entitlement, exploitation, these aren’t random quirks of human nature floating in a vacuum, they’re predictable outcomes of scarcity-based systems and artificial hierarchies that reward short-term extraction over long-term stewardship. My philosophy, and the reason I’m running for office, is to target the material conditions directly. Everybody needs a place to be, and time to become. That’s why my platform centers on Sovereign Homes as the proof-of-concept of Liberation Infrastructure, publicly managed but occupant-owned, 3D printed, off-grid capable homes under $100,000. If you give people housing security, time, and the means to build a future, you start cutting off the root causes that narcissists and opportunists feed on. I’m a philosopher in my own established right, and I’d urge you to explore my Substack where I go into these ideas in much more depth. I had a TikTok of 17k followers before it was banned for exposing how the Endarkenment has, for over a century, effectively genetically engineered neurotypicality into existence through selective social, cultural, and economic pressures. My new TikTok is at only like 11 followers. But it's only been a week and a half. These systems didn’t just happen; they were built. And what’s built can be unbuilt.

I don't use TikTok, but if you make a YouTube channel and post some of your videos there, I would happy follow your work.
