Ooo! Ooo! I know this one, because I have faced it in real life.

Would I play videogames on a laptop on a bus?
I would not even operate a laptop on a bus for word processing, let alone playing a game.
Why?
1. I do not like attracting attention
2. I equate it with showing off that I can afford a laptop. I grew up poor and know what it is like to be around people who assumed everyone had luxuries.

So both reasons are my hang ups and other people probably don't care.

Hidden ramblings

I once took my laptop to work and attempted to play something while in the cafeteria over lunch. My biggest problem? Reason one. I felt I was attracting too much attention and thinking people would think I was trying to attract attention. In the eighth grade I told my parents I needed glasses because I could not see the chalk board. I was told I was just trying to attract attention. In the nineth grade the school nurse told me I needed glasses. Again, we did not have a lot of money. In hindsight, I understand and am sympathetic.

Question revisited.

I just read the post Offline Apps/games/tools question and I remembered that when we were given Palm Pilots (look it up if you are too young to know), I use to play games on mine primarily because it was inconspicuous. I even bought the Sony Palm Pilot because it was in color and had more memory.

Why did our hospital buy the I.T. staff Palm Pilots? I think it was a status thing. People wore them on their belts. I carried my in my pocket. Why? Addressed in my previous answer.

No, I'd worry about it falling on the ground, someone spilling something over it, or even someone trying to run off with it. People have been mugged over less. Also, too likely someone bumping into you, and mess up the game.
I did play Gameboy advance on the bus though, ages ago, but it was small enough I felt I had control.

I've never owned a laptop and I haven't taken a bus anywhere in forever, but since the ride wouldn't normally very long and I have to watch out for the stop so I can get off, I wouldn't bother getting it out in the first place.

Although the traffic has been incredibly bad since the summer because of all the construction, which is still going on, and I think the way things are going it will continue until maybe January, depending on how mild the weather is. What year in January, I'm not certain. :) I might take my phone out to watch a video or play my Switch just to pass the time if we got stuck due to the traffic.

Last week my mom and my aunt took a trip to Hailfax. It normally takes about 5 hours to drive there, depending on how often you stop for a break, but mom told me because of the traffic it took them 8 hours!! 8O

I wouldn't be scared of it falling to the ground, but I still wouldn't do it because even if you ain't talking about a gaming laptop here and just casual games on a non-gaming laptop, it's still not a comfortable situation to play games.

I always use a proper mouse (ie not the touchpad) with a laptop, so it would be pretty impractical under any circumstances.

Bus usually too crowded and places too small, even books are difficult.
Many seem to play phone games but don't like those.

I seen a bit of people using laptops while riding Greyhound buses. From what I could tell lots were watching movies/shows but some were doing other things including playing games. I don't recall ever noticing someone dropping one. I seen very few people using laptops on city & more localish buses though which is not surprising. Greyhound buses tend to be much longer rides, they have outlets to charge devices, & people are much more likely to bring their laptop when traveling.

As for myself, I never owned a laptop. I've always been extremely nearsighted even with glasses & laptop screens are hard for me to see well. However I use my android phone a lot while riding buses including city buses. I always bring my phone with me anyway & using my phone isn't nearly as cumbersome as a laptop would be. I mostly use my phone like it was a laptop though & I never use it for phone calls on buses except for calling my parents while traveling on Greyhound.

#1 reason for me is it would make me feel nauseous. I struggle to use my mobile in the car as a passenger. Ride quality too bumpy, too stop/start, limited space, our UK roads are not smooth!

Then a lot of the other reasons above! Possibly maybe on a long distance coach trip. A long train journey, probably would be okay as they tend to be smoother and possibility of a table (last time I went at least) not that I have a laptop or go on long train journeys.

Sorry, I've only just seen your post.

It's 'Starry Night On The Rhone' by Van Gogh, painted around 1888, I believe.

No, I don't believe I'd be able to make a comfortable setup, but also I'd be worried about getting too immersed and missing my stop.

It might be more viable on a coach bus if I was travelling a long distance, but I don't think I'd bother trying.
