Some self righteous "Karen" on the bus had the nerve to bark @ me for taking too many masks.

(micromanagement, precious lil "people" talking too much, self righteous).
(rolls eyes, puke).
then he got off his seat and stood in front of me and told me that and i did not make any statement or action in reaction. he had the nerve to tell me that "you should put them back." when i didn't do that, he had the nerve to tattle/snitch to the operator/driver. gratefully/thankfully, the driver/operator did not react.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_(slang)

"Karen is a pejorative slang term typically used to refer to a middle class woman who is perceived as entitled or excessively demanding.[1] The term is often portrayed in memes depicting middle-class white women who use their white and class privilege to demand their own way.[1][2] Depictions include demanding to "speak to the manager", being racist, or wearing a particular bob cut hairstyle.[3] It was popularized in the aftermath of the Central Park birdwatching incident in 2020, when a woman called the police during a disagreement over the requirement for her dog to be leashed in an area of the park.[2]"

other "karens":
aikido "instructor" kayla: "you should do the four claps." (how about "YOU should keep your trap shut.) then that stupid lil girl had the nerve to ask "why are you leaving?". "bus," i told her. (yeah, well, it wasn't even her class. that was in the middle of 2014, over eleven years ago, but "primacy and recentcy effects". first impression). that was my first impression of her. (besides, there is no way that anyone could "prove" that they were going to take the bus.)

what happened to "pick your battles," "consider someone else's perspective", give the benefit of a doubt", "mind your business."?

some precious lil "people" have the nerve to flap their dumb lil traps way too much.

Ain't that term offensive to everyone called Karen?

We, Poles, have a similar stereotype - our equivalent of your "Karen" is "Grażyna" A very common name in the generation of ladies my mother's age. Grażyna's male eqivalent is Janusz :D Is there a male counterpart of a Karen, too? :)

I know many a Karen and they're very nice people. There was one in the neighbourhood that I grew up in. She was a great mother and an upstanding citizen.

When is someone going to come up with an alternative.

The Karen are a noble people and don't need their name used as a pejorative.
Why don't we start pointing the racist finger at those who do. . .

Every Karen I've been introduced to has been kind & caring. It's a way to try to hold down some opinionated women. I wish this Karen thing would die already.

I had an aunt named Karen who died of cancer a few years ago. She was loud & yelled a bit. She was married & divorced twice. Had two kids(my cousins) that she yelled at a lot & also yelled at their kids(her grandkids) a lot. Her two kids are kind of trasy people.

That person on the bus is a bully a**hole.

My guess is that a**hole is still mad about the COVID mask mandates. There are a bunch of people that go around abusing people that still wear masks. They think they are getting revenge, that anybody still wearing masks is a paranoid snowflake that deserves to be targeted.

As far as the insult Karen goes I have always felt it was sexist, racist, and ageist. It was also hypocritical calling out bigotry by being a bigot. It had to be a nightmare for those actually named Karen when usage was at its peak in 2020. Those zoomers who used it as an insult likely did not know any peers named Karen as it was not a popular baby name when they were coming into the world.

I was hoping it would be a fad that would go away as fast as it came. While usage is a lot less it is still very much around.
