I've only played II but it's given me a good idea of what the games are like. Note: this is outside of Legends or Soul Calibur IV (which I don't think has been announced but if it is, it will probably come to the PS3 and/or Xbox 360).

So, get voting!

I have only played II. It's a great game.

I play as Raphael... I don't think he's in the original... so ah... I don't think I'd play that one.

III rocks there is so many moves, so many characters all with a set of their own unique abilities. Customization, bonus material and music is all fantastic. The speed is just perfect and if there is any complaint it must be that it almost encourages frantic button pushing. :-P

Soul Calibur III and Tekken 5 are the greatest fighting games ever.

I think II has the best overall so far. The first SC was great and II improved on it greatly.
III felt different, maybe it was the anal AI or something. However I really liked the character creation mode in III and I'm looking forward to see how it gets revamped in IV. I was able to create most of my fiction characters with good accuracy in that. :)

Soul Calibur on Dreamcast looked better than Soul Calibur 2. Very strange

It depends on which console you're playing II on because the Xbox and Gamecube version definately look better than the PS2 version (though III looks better than the PS2 version of II and III is only on PS2).

I've read about III online and am impressed with the amount of characters on there. I do like using Yunsung on II though but it doesn't matter because I could always use Kilik, Nightmare or Cervantes if I ever get to play III (and seeing as I don't have a PS2 then probably not).

In my opinion, Cervantes is the best character in the game. On a side note, is there anyone who can perform the moves that the characters can do (obviously you can't jump up incredibly high like Cervantes but I'm talking about the weapon techniques).

Yeah I thought the AI in 3 was a little harsh. And the secret campaign routes are practically impossible to get.

Man I wasted so much time playing soul blade back on the ps1. It is the only one I have played so I voted for it. I love the intro movie with the corny and badly translated rock and roll song too. "I got to get the edge of soul, to carry on..." And let us not forget about Taki. In her close ups in her victory pose in one of her outfits you can see certain "things" thanks to that mesh top.
