I'm Wimpy, just found you about 15 minutes ago. When I saw the name of this forum, it was instantly apparent that although we here are on the wrong planet, I was indeed, in the right forum. Recently started my path to enlightenment since, like many here, there was no diagnosis or support in my time.

My mission is simple; learn about this gift I gave my daughter, master what I can, and teach her.

My dream is more complex. Put simply, I dream of places like Xavier's School for the Gifted, where us NeuroSpicy folk, ALL ages, can be educated and encouraged by other spicy individuals, to reach our true potentials whilst fighting the ill-fitting clothes that come with living on the wrong planet.

My belief- There is no task insurmountable by a room full of well-organized and diverse spicy folks if we work together with our NT loved ones. I have no idea how to do that, but it sounds like fun to figure out, doesn't it?!

I hope to learn from you all, share notes... explore.

With much love,
=Wimpy=

PS- I am not Associate Bob, sorry to disappoint

Welcome to WP! The name "Wrong Planet" instantly resonated with me, as well.

Everyone is different, but I think too much emphasis is made on teaching the hard stuff in an effort to be "normal."
There is no energy left for learning the fun stuff we are interested in.

There needs to be a balance.

My father couldn't teach me because I needed too much time with the really simple stuff.
But how can you learn if you haven't mastered the simple stuff?

I spend three months learning to swing a golf club in my back yard with foam golf balls before trying to play on a beginner golf course. Four years later I'm learning golf really fast, but that wouldn't have happened if I had rushed it at the beginning.

You have the luxury of time when figuring out your daughter. You may need to try several different things to help your daughter before you figure out what is useful and what is not.

Thanks BT, certainly not looking to make anybody "Normal", I would find the thought offensive at minimum.
Mine is a mission of translation, not conformity. Mastery, not misery. Service, not subservience.
I can't think of anything else cool that rhymes.

Welcome, Wimpy.

I am so onboard with this plan. If we're all gonna be the Xmen, I get to be Jubilee!
