Do you like eating fermented food? Is it true no American person would ever want to try it because you consider it disgusting with a capital "d"? I don't have a sweet tooth - I mean, maybe I do like some sweets - from time to time, let me stress it; from time to time - but I do prefer more spicy and sour food tastes. As we, Poles say, "my favorite sweet is a herring" which is a saying according to which someone is a lover of all sorts of spicy and sour tastes and doesn't like sweets too much.

Have you ever tried eating sauerkraut? It's really very tasty - if you enjoy the sour taste. I like also pierogi that have the sauerkraut inside https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierogi :D

I like to fry up some bacon with garlic and throw the chopped up pieces in my raw sauerkraut, so delicious together.

I think in Poland everybody eats sauerkraut every now and then - until they, of course, they really don't like sauerkraut :)

How sour it is depends on how it is prepared.

I've had it at German restaurants where it was hardly sour at all.

if you just open a jar or can of it and heat it up, then it will be sour.

I sometimes put sausages in a baking dish and fill the space between them with sauerkraut. About 30 to 45 minutes at 375 F and it comes out quite mild.
