House Democrats obtained the emails from Epstein's estate as part of the committee's investigation into the late sex offender's case.

Quote:
Jeffrey Epstein referenced President Donald Trump in emails to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell and a journalist, claiming in one that Trump "knew about the girls," according to emails released by House Democrats.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three email chains, sent between 2011 and 2019, saying the documents came from the late convicted sex offender's estate as part of the committee's investigation into the Epstein case.

NBC News has not independently verified the emails.

In a statement to NBC News, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democrats of "selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump."

In a 2019 email released by the committee on Wednesday, Epstein wrote to Wolff that Trump “knew about the girls.”

“[REDACTED] mara lago. [REDACTED],” the email, sent several months before Epstein’s death, reads. “Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. Of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop.”

The email was apparently referencing Trump and Epstein's soured relationship. The two were friends for years, but the White House said earlier this year that Trump booted Epstein “out of his club for being a creep.”

“He took people that worked for me. And I told him, ‘Don’t do it anymore.’ And he did it,” Trump told reporters in July, adding, “I said, ‘Stay the hell out of here.’”

The emails contain multiple references to a victim, whose name is redacted in the release. But the White House and Republicans on the committee said that the redacted name was Virginia Giuffre, a prominent Epstein survivor who died in April.

Trump has said that Giuffre worked for him at Mar-a-Lago before Epstein "stole her." Giuffre had never accused Trump of wrongdoing and in her memoir, published posthumously this year, she said that “Trump couldn’t have been friendlier" when she first met him while working at Mar-a-Lago.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the Epstein story a "hoax" and accused Democrats of releasing the documents to distract from news about the government shutdown. He urged Republicans not to "fall into that trap“

Republicans on the committee later Wednesday released what they say are 20,000 additional pages from Epstein's estate. Trump is referenced repeatedly in those documents, which NBC News is reviewing.

In another email released by Democrats that Epstein allegedly sent to Maxwell in 2011, Epstein says Trump "spent hours" with someone the committee says was a victim. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence on sex trafficking charges in connection with Epstein.

"I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned. Police chief. etc. im 75 % there," the email said.

Trump isn't just in the Epstein files. He's the main character.

Jeffrey Epstein emails: Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and more

Quote:
Emails released by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday show Jeffrey Epstein sounding off on Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and more.

Epstein criticizes Trump's 'dirty' business practices
Epstein repeatedly ripped Trump’s business practices in the emails and called him “dirty.”

After attorney and former Obama White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler sent Epstein a link to a New York Times op-ed that referenced former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, Epstein responded, “you see, I know how dirty donald is. My guess is that non lawyers ny biz people have no idea. What it means to have your fixer flip.”

In another email, Epstein accused Trump of using financial shenanigans to outbid him on a property.

“He has no money when he buys the house,” he wrote in a February 2019 email to Wolff.

“His biz model is putting his name on a real estate development and gets a fee for using his name. The hotel biz is just that,” Epstein wrote.

“Trump put his name on it, and get a 2% fee and maybe a piece of the profit if any on sale. He touts the project as ‘his’… just as in his current financial statements on file as president he lists his ‘income’ as the GROSS receipts of the clubs, with no expenses, not his personal revenue ie the doral golf club loses money every year. It pays out more than it takes in, but he lists the revenue as his income. AMAZING.”

Epstein says Trump blames others 'for bad results'
In a February 2017 exchange with Epstein, Ruemmler called Trump “so gross.”

“Worse in real life and upclose,” Epstein responded.

In a separate 2017 exchange with an unidentified person, Epstein said of Trump, “your world does not understand how dumb he really is. he will blame everyone around him. for bad results.”

Epstein references Trump and prison
Mark Epstein, the late financier’s brother, asked him in a 2018 email, “what is your boy Donald up to now?”

Epstein responded that he was “with Bannon now,” apparently a reference to former White House adviser Steve Bannon. Mark Epstein suggested his brother ask if Russian President Vladimir Putin had compromising pictures of Trump and Clinton together.

“You and your boy Donnie could do a remake of the movie Get Hard,” Mark Epstein offered, referencing the comedy with Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell where Hart’s character tries to prepare Ferrell’s for prison. “You mean Donni T,” Epstein responded.

Mark Epstein confirmed to NBC News that the email attributed to him was accurate. He declined comment on the broader release because he had not seen all of the emails.

Epstein denies Clinton went to his private island
In different email exchanges, Epstein denied claims that Clinton had been to his private island, where some of Epstein’s abuse occurred.

In a 2015 email exchange with now-former New York Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr., Epstein referred to claims about Clinton’s presence on the island by a victim whose name has been redacted as having been made up, including “specifically minute details of a dinner had on the island with him.”

“Clinton was NEVER EVER there, never,” Epstein wrote.

In a January 2015 email to Wolff, Epstein said he had a former girlfriend who could corroborate that Clinton was never there — and could also refute claims that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak had been on the island.

Epstein and 'The Duke' discuss Virginia Giuffre
Also included in the documents are email exchanges between Epstein and a person identified as “The Duke.” The person appears to be Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, who was recently stripped of his titles of prince and Duke of York over his association with Epstein.

One of the allegations against the former prince was that he had sex with Giuffre when she was underage, a claim he’s denied.

In 2011, Epstein forwarded an email to “the Duke” that had been sent on to him about a story the Mail on Sunday had been working on, with Giuffre coming forward with her claims about the prince.

“What? I don’t know any of this. How are you responding?” Epstein said he’d just gotten the request for comment and asked “g lawyers to send a letter.” “Im not sure how to respond, the only person she didn’t have sex with was Elvis,” Epstein said of Giuffre.

“The Duke” then replies, “Please make sure that every statement or legal letter states clearly that I am NOT involved and that I knew and know NOTHING about any of these allegations. I can’t take any more of this my end.”

“The Duke” then reached out to Maxwell, who forwarded Epstein the email he sent her. “Hey there! What’s all this? I don’t know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me. I can’t take any more of this,” he wrote.

Epstein also told Thomas, the former Times reporter, in a 2015 email that the claims about Clinton having been on the island should show that Giuffre’s account about Andrew is “delusional.”

Thomas told him one issue is the prince was “keeping the story alive.”

“I think the big issue is separating yourself from Andrew,” Thomas wrote. “I mean, in the end, he had consensual sex with (redacted) . And (redacted) worked for you. The rest is atmospherics. You have moved on! People don’t know that and can’t accept that unless you say as much.”

In a different email to a publicist in 2011, Epstein said, “The girl who accused Prince Andrew can also easily be proven to be a liar. I think Buckingham Palace would love it. You should task someone to investigate the girl Virginia Roberts,” Giuffre’s maiden name.

Epstein says Andrew is 'great fun'
Immunologist Boris Nikolić told Epstein in one email, “Met your friend bill clinton yesterday” and “meeting your friend prince andrew as he has some questions re microsoft.”

Epstein told Nikolić, who used to work for Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, “you can tell andrew we are friends.”

Nikolić told Epstein, “I do not need anything from him.”

“[Y]es you do, you need to laugh and have fun, he is good at that,” Epstein responded. “Hes great fun.”

Nikolić’s company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It is difficult to believe that he could not have known, especially considering his own words. It is difficult to believe that he didn't partake of what was available.

In 2016, there were some reports that he threw a regular Friday afternoon party for the wealthy and would invite high school girls aspiring to be models to the parties by convincing them that it was the perfect opportunity for networking.

Why is modeling always the go-to ruse for creeps trying to lure vulnerable young women? At this point, if someone you don't know offers you a modeling contract, you should automatically assume that that person is either a rapist or a serial killer or both.

And to think, Trump ran on releasing the Epstein files. That certainly bit him on the a$$.

Think about how arrogant you have to be to know you're culpable for something and still think you can use it as a selling point or a way to attack others.

That's the thing about psychopaths. They live only for the moment without concerning themselves about the consequences.

What really gets me is that people were stupid enough to buy into it.

Like, you trusted Trump on this? The man who bragged about sexual assault because his fame and power allows him to get away with it? The man who boasted about entering the womens' dressing rooms at his pageants to check out the women undressed (with allegations that this happened when some of them were minors)? The man who was found to have been civilly liable for sexual assault by a court? The man who had obvious ties to Epstein already?

Just, wow.

I don't understand why Trump would run on it either, but I'm beginning to think it's all part of him realizing that his base are as dumb as bricks so he can pull this kind of thing off. Even then, it was a huge gamble. It's one that worked for him, and you wonder why I have given up hope on the populace of the US.

Trump says out loud what his base thinks, but dare not speak. Now, they think they can say what they really want to. That's why they voted for him.

Trump says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files: 'We have nothing to hide'

Quote:
President Donald Trump on Sunday called on House Republicans to support the release of files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, dramatically changing course on a flashpoint issue he has long opposed.

“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Just last week, Trump had called the efforts to release the files a “hoax,” saying Democrats were bringing them up to “deflect how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown.”

In the post, Trump said the Justice Department has already released “tens of thousands” of pages on Epstein and noted his recent move directing the Justice Department to investigate Epstein’s relationship with notable Democrats such as former President Bill Clinton. Trump’s ask followed a tranche of emails mentioning figures on both sides of the aisle, including the president himself.

A Clinton spokesperson told NBC News on Friday that the released emails “prove Bill Clinton did nothing and knew nothing.”

“The rest is noise meant to distract from election losses, backfiring shutdowns, and who knows what else,” the spokesperson said in a statement Friday evening.

Reps. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky., last week reached enough signatures on a discharge petition to force a vote on the measure onto the House floor. They picked up support from Trump allies, including Reps. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., and Lauren Boebert, R-Colo. The petition also got a signature from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who over the weekend had a falling-out with Trump, which Greene attributed to her advocacy for releasing the Epstein files.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has opposed the effort — but he said Wednesday he would bring the measure to the floor this week. To become law, the bill would also need to pass the GOP-controlled Senate and gain Trump’s signature.

House passes bill to force the release of the Epstein files, sending it to Senate

Quote:
The House on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly to pass legislation to compel the Justice Department to release all its records related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — a major victory for lawmakers in both parties who've been leading the push for months.

As the final vote tally, 427-1, was read, several Epstein survivors who were sitting in the House gallery embraced each other and loud cheers went up through the chamber. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., was the only lawmaker to vote no.

The measure, which last week secured enough bipartisan support to head straight to the House floor, got another boost over the weekend, when President Donald Trump reversed his position and urged Republicans to support it.

Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Ro Khanna, D-Calif. — the bipartisan duo who co-authored the legislation and successfully forced the vote on the House floor, despite leadership's objections — had spent the past few days trying to drive up the vote tally.

The near-unanimous vote will put enormous pressure on the Republican-controlled Senate to act.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said his chamber would "move fairly quickly" to pass it.

The bill would require the attorney general to release in a searchable and downloadable format “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials” related to Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, flight logs or travel records, people and entities connected with Epstein and internal emails, notes and other internal Justice Department communications.

Those records would need to be released “not later than 30 days” after enactment of the law.

The legislation says the attorney general may withhold or redact any information that identifies victims or would jeopardize an active federal investigation.

Ahead of the House vote, Massie, Khanna and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., held an emotional news conference outside the Capitol with more than a dozen Epstein survivors, urging senators to quickly take up the bill.

"You had Jeffrey Epstein, who literally set up an island of rape — a rape island — and you had rich and powerful men, some of the richest people in the world, who thought that they could hang out with bankers, buy off politicians and abuse and rape America’s girls with no consequence," Khanna told reporters Tuesday.

"Because survivors spoke up, because of their courage, the truth is finally going to come out," he added. "And when it comes out, this country is really going to have a moral reckoning."

Massie said he was fine with Speaker Mike Johnson's efforts to get the Senate to tweak language to protect the identities of victims. Higgins wrote on X that he would support the bill if that effort is successful, arguing that, as-written, it could reveal "thousands of innocent people — witnesses, people who provided alibis, family members, etc."

“If you want to add some additional protections for these survivors, go for it,” Massie continued, but he warned that such changes should not delay or halt the release of the documents.

"If you do anything that prevents any disclosure, you are not for the people ... Do not muck it up in the Senate," he said.

"We fought the president, the attorney general, the FBI director, the speaker of the House and the vice president to get this win," Massie said, adding that proponents deserve some "credit" because the administration now backs the legislation. "They are finally on the side of justice."

Why Trump reversed course
Momentum on the Epstein discharge petition had been building in the House, which allowed rank-and-file members to circumvent leadership and force a vote.

All House Democrats were on board, and after half the House signed the discharge petition to force a vote, a deluge of Republicans began announcing they would vote for it.

Trump and the White House had worked behind the scenes to stop the effort, trying to pressure a handful of GOP women to drop off the petition.

But with the writing on the wall, Trump abruptly reversed course Sunday night, posting on Truth Social that House Republicans should vote for the bill. On Friday, Trump directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats and financial institutions.

Trump, who had supported releasing the Epstein files before his re-election last year, vowed Monday to sign the legislation should it reach his desk, which he said would allow the GOP to turn the page and focus on the economy.

"Some of the people that we mentioned are being looked at very seriously for their relationship to Jeffrey Epstein, but they were with him all the time — I wasn’t. I wasn’t at all," Trump said in the Oval Office.

"What I just don’t want Epstein to do is detract from the great success of the Republican Party, including the fact that the Democrats are totally blamed for the shutdown," he continued.

Standing with fellow Epstein survivors Tuesday, Jena-Lisa Jones lashed out at Trump over the new DOJ probe.

“I beg you, President Trump: Please stop making this political,” Jones said. “It is not about you, President Trump. You are our president. Please start acting like it. Show some class, show some real leadership, show that you actually care about the people other than yourself.”

Jones said she voted for Trump. “Your behavior on this issue has been a national embarrassment," she said.

On this new bill, it sounds like there is a clause that would allow them to use the pretense of national security to not divulge the iles.

One way or the other, I don't think we're ever going to see the Epstein files released as long as Trump is president. Even if they tell him he has to release them and he has no choice, he'll just give them the middle finger, because it's not like Trump ever listens to anyone giving him pushback. He thinks he's above the law and doesn't have to obey Congress or the courts, even if he's legally obligated to, so I'm like 100% certain he'll just ignore their request.
