Hello fellow aspie car enthusiasts,

What cars do you like that others might look at you sideways if you said that you liked them in regular company?

Here are some of mine:

90's & early 00's Geo Metro / Suzuki Swift / Pontiac Firefly.

70's & 80's custom / conversion vans.

Large fwd GM cars from the 90's and early to mid 2000's, e.g. Pontiac Bonneville, Oldsmobile 98, Buick Park Avenue. Basically anything built on the GM W platform.

Any rwd Volvo sedan made between the 70's to the late 90's.

I'm sure there is more, but that's what I could think of off the top of my head.

I always liked little and strange cars. When the original twingos came out, surprised by their color and cuteness with the eyes... but they were competition... We were VW and our only color was red. Shades of beige, some murky coffee&milk and red. Even the color editions never available in belgium. Company cars all white.

Or the other end, american cars from the 50s/60s, lots of bling.

Dream car... crazy and a lot of noise... but the Morgan 3 Wheeler. In British Racing green or the spitfire look... Going to work in vintage 50s fashion, gloves and goggles. Wicker laptop case on the back. Petticoat singed and a bit melted sticking to the exposed exhaust, ruining the attempt to graciously get out of it. Not ladylike language uttered.

Current cars, even the 'small' ones either make me sad, scared or angry. Apparently that is a design choice I am a bit too sensitive to.

volvos make me sick
they have a (disgusting) volvo smell,
i was always sick as a child
then fatherinlaw always had volvos too :eew:
granddads had the dafs, and the hats

vw transporter after the volvos we had
(they always had vw for the smaller work truck too,-
sometimes we(kids) went in the (almost dark) back, and tried to stay standing up, preguessing the road's turns)

in orange and white, it was on gas, at some time it caught fire on the parking space

those 60s volvos were quite nice, though

Small cars, like superminis and kei cars.

Oh good one CFL, pull up a seat and get something to drink, it's special interest time!

Buicks and Oldsmobiles from the mid 1980s-2000s. The boxy olds 88s and 98s along with their Buick counterparts the park ave and lesabre. These would be the 1985(6)-1990(1) models. The Lebabres through the 90s and early 2000s were good too. The boxy ones I like how the hoods opened from the back.

I recall seeing a lot of dark gray and medium red colored ones, my favorite was this cream color that had a yellowish to it. The coupes were especially unique.

Bonneville, it's got to be the 1987-1991 year. I liked those in the light the blue. The Buick Century and Olds Cutlass Ciera to be felt like a more expensive car that they actually were. Good value for the money at the time.

Always been a big Honda Accord fan, 94-97 was the best IMO. I had one in a medium color. Had a 99 Civic as well as an 08 Coupe at one point.

The Mercury Grand Marquis was always a solid car IMO. You couldn't go wrong with them, strong engine and good build quality and I'm a bit of a Ford hater.

Back to Buick, I always liked the mid 90s Buick Skylarks with the pointed hood even though I know many people thought they were ugly.

I have no experience with Volvos, but I always wanted a 760 GL.
